🥳 Happy World COPD Day from Fredonia Family Care! 🥳

Today, November 19th, we join the global community to raise awareness about Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD).

This year's theme is "Short of Breath, Think COPD."

COPD is a common, preventable, and treatable disease that makes it hard to breathe. It often includes conditions like emphysema and chronic bronchitis.

Here's what you need to know:
⚠️ The Danger of Ignoring Symptoms: Because symptoms develop slowly, many people mistake persistent breathlessness, chronic cough, or wheezing for normal aging. Don't ignore these signs!

💨 Early Diagnosis Matters: Early and accurate diagnosis, often confirmed with a simple test called spirometry, can significantly improve your quality of life and treatment outcomes.

🚭 The Biggest Risk: Smoking is the leading cause of COPD, but non-smokers can also be at risk due to exposure to air pollution, dust, chemical fumes, and genetics.
