In the practice of Kunzang Gar, the Nampar Gyalwa (victorious Buddha) is considered greatly important. This session today is for our practitioners, at the conclusion of a year, to request the auspiciousness and accomplishments (siddhi) of the Nampar Gyalwa mandala. Through this, the Nampar Gyalwa mandala will certainly assist us in ensuring that we receive the temporary and ultimate the power, wisdom, and so forth so rhat our body, speech, and mind are not diminished but rather grow, in the coming year and always. Nampar Gyalwa and ten deities are the principal deity, and his retinue consists of 108 worldly powerful protectors, each with an immeasurable retinue of their own. Among their assemblies are the kings of gods and nāgas who preside over the elements and their powers, along with Jambhala and others.
For example, concerning the deities of the specific elements, this practice is very important for protection from natural disasters related to the elements, such as earthquakes and natural disaster from earth, water, fire, and wind. When we humans face difficulties related to these, we should ask the elemental deities for help; other situations can be understood from this example.
Through this, much merit is accumulated and our power and knowledge increase. The power of this mandala pervades the entire world. We receive blessings and obstacles are removed.
This special Nampar Gyalwa auspicious ritual is being practiced for the first time after a new translation. This signifies our connection with the completely victorious Buddha Nampar Gyalwa, and it indicates that we can directly obtain strength, wisdom, skillful means, gratitude, encouragement, and protection.
