🌟 Team Spotlight: Meet Joanise, One of our Certified Home Health Aides! 🌟

Meet Joanise, one of Carousel of Home Care’s compassionate caregivers who truly leads with her heart. She shares, “I love getting to communicate with my patients and building a relationship with them. The kindness I get to show them and the kindness they show in return means a lot to me.”

When asked about her most rewarding moment at Carousel, Joanise says, “My favorite memory is watching TV and joking around with my patients. It’s also fun helping them to get exercise in and getting to hear about their life.” These simple, joyful moments are what make caregiving so special to her.

Outside of work, Joanise likes to study, read, and do things that help to improve her English.

We are so grateful to have Joanise on the Carousel of Home Care team!

🌟 Wednesday Care Tip: Thanksgiving Cooking Safety 🌟

Thanksgiving is almost here! As we prepare to cook and celebrate, remember that kitchen safety is just as important as the meal itself.

Here are a few tips to keep everyone safe while cooking:

- Never leave food unattended on the stove. Stay in the kitchen when frying, grilling, or boiling.

- Keep flammable items, like dish towels or pot holders, away from the stove.

- Use a timer when baking or roasting to remind you to check on your food.

- Ask for help lifting heavy pots or dishes to avoid spills or burns.

- Make sure smoke alarms are working before the holiday cooking begins.

A little extra caution goes a long way toward a happy and safe Thanksgiving. From all of us at Carousel of Home Care, we wish you a wonderful and safe holiday celebration!

🌟 Wednesday Care Tip: Alzheimer’s Awareness 🌟

November is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month. A time to learn more about early detection and steps that can help reduce risk.

Did you know that the earliest signs of Alzheimer’s may appear years before symptoms noticeably impact daily life? Changes in memory, difficulty planning, confusion about time or place, and trouble completing familiar tasks are early warning signals to watch for.

Evidence-based steps to help prevent Alzheimer’s include staying physically and mentally active, maintaining a healthy weight, managing stress, and prioritizing good heart health through regular exercise and a balanced diet. Socializing, learning new things, and regular check-ups are all important ways to protect brain health.

Empower yourself and your loved ones by learning the signs and making prevention a part of your care routine. Early action can make a meaningful difference!

Last Wednesday, our Business Manager Brian and Director of Nursing Melissa attended an event at The Commission on Accreditation for Home Care in Saddle Brook, NJ. The goal was to further their education on industry standards and survey readiness.

At Carousel of Home Care, meeting and exceeding accreditation standards is a core principle of how we operate. We’re proud to share that we have received our State Accreditation with Distinction for the last two years in a row!

A special thank you to The Commission on Accreditation for Home Care for supporting our continued learning and commitment to quality care. Every educational opportunity helps us strengthen our mission to deliver the best possible care to our clients and their families.

A few points on why being CAHC accredited matters:

- CAHC accreditation means we meet the highest standards for quality and safety set by New Jersey’s lead home care accrediting body that has been trusted by families since 1986.

- Our agency’s practices are guided by established best practices and state regulations, ensuring reliable, professional, and accountable care for every client.

- CAHC’s rigorous accreditation process means our staff is guided and empowered by industry experts, raising our team’s competence and the standard of service you receive.

- The CAHC seal represents our agency’s commitment to ongoing improvement, compliance, and collaborative partnerships with state health authorities for your peace of mind.

🌟 Wednesday Care Tip: Fall Prevention Alert 🌟

Slippery surfaces from November rain or early snow can greatly increase the risk of falls for seniors. Protect your loved ones with these simple steps:

- Keep outdoor walkways and steps clear of ice, leaves, and debris, and add non-slip material to stairs.
- Use walking aids, sturdy handrails, and install grab bars in bathrooms, entranceways, and near the toilet or tub for added support.
- Place non-slip mats or strips in wet areas like bathtubs and shower floors, and avoid using loose rugs.
- Brighten walkways and rooms with nightlights or motion-sensor lighting to prevent trips in dim areas.
- Clear clutter, tuck away cords, and keep items within easy reach to create safe, open living spaces.

A little prevention goes a long way and helps everyone stay safe, confident, and independent throughout the fall and winter months!

We’re proud to continue celebrating Veteran’s Day by sharing some meaningful local events that paid tribute to our nation’s heroes over the past week.

The first photo was taken when Brian Trionfo and Carousel of Home Care joined Mike Ferraro and Bridging the Gap at Monmouth Crossing Assisted Living Facility in Freehold on Monday Nov. 10th 2025 for their first ever Coffee with a Vet Segment for Veteran's Day. The event was hosted to honor veterans and to help foster a sense of community and support around them. It was an honor to sit and listen to the stories and experiences that were shared by the veterans who attended the event. Thank you to Monmouth Crossing, Veronica Velazquez-Bruzzese and Katy Burge for organizing this great event!

In the second photo you'll see 106 year old Carousel of Home Care patient, Evelyn Tutunjian being honored by Centra State Medical Center on Sunday, November 09, 2025 for Veteran’s Day. Evelyn is a Veteran of World War II and is believed to be the last remaining World War II nurse! Thank you Evelyn for the many ways that you supported our injured troops during your time of service. 💙
