Hard to see how this makes America great. 1,000 employees fired from our cherished VA supporting our veterans who fought hard to uphold our democracy and way of life. More firings of VA employees helping vets are coming folks!
1300 fired from the CDC, the preeminent health agency charged with our safety and our response to the next pandemic, bird flu perhaps migrating to a large portion of our population? Cancer research greatly impacted.
I hope the “dark fraud” is being exposed but so far all I read and hear about is American citizens lives being destroyed.
This is why I voted for the humane, intelligent, experienced and sensible candidate, yes, a Woman!

Federal workers were responding with anger and confusion Friday as they grappled with the Trump administration’s latest effort to shrink the size of the federal workforce by ordering agencies to lay off probationary employees who have yet to qualify for civil service protections.

Always a great and useful post from the AHA!

Cardiac arrest occurs when the heart suddenly stops beating. It can be fatal if the right steps aren’t taken immediately. If you see someone collapse, call 911, start CPR by pushing hard and fast in the center of the chest, and use an AED to shock the heart if one is available.

What an inspirational leader and Fire Chief who cares about the well being of his department and the emotional health of his firefighters. It is a struggle that few know and far too many leaders undervalue. Great job, Chief!

After living with heart failure for 18 years, Dr. Dawn Mussallem couldn't wait to exercise again after getting a new heart. She began running an hour a day, four days a week. Longer on the weekends. She started yoga twice a week and added light weights and resistance training.

"My life had been on hold for 18 years," she said. "All that energy was bottled up!"

Three months after her transplant, Dawn ran a 5K. A month later, she climbed Camelback Mountain in Arizona. On the one-year anniversary of her transplant, she ran a marathon.

She saw the marathon as a metaphor for her life's journey. Even as a child, Dawn at a healthy plant-based diet and stayed physically active. She wanted to live to be the oldest woman in the world and knew she had to take care of herself.

"Her strength and her will and her nature to not give up, that all played into her survival," Dawn's mom said. "I'm so grateful that she has the spirit she has and never gave up."

90% of cardiac arrest victims who receive a shock from an AED in the first minute live. Here’s what to know about automated external defibrillators:

1️⃣ Anyone can use one; no training is required.

2️⃣ Many public places have them, often on a wall near an elevator.

3️⃣ A diagram shows where to place the defibrillator pads on bare skin.

4️⃣ A voice prompt tells the person using it exactly what to do.
