Due to inclement weather, the Highland Community College campus will be closed tomorrow, January 23. All classes are canceled on campus, through Zoom, and at outreach locations. Students may still access online classes and ROAR services. Contact the YMCA to verify their hours. 815-235-9622

Our medical assistant students toured Crusader community health last week to learn about all of the services they provide. Accompanied by instructors Amanda Lessman and Cassie Mekeel they also got to speak to two employees Kadie, a Highland MA graduate and Sherra, a highland nursing student. It’s all COMMUNITY here and we are represented in many organizations in our region.

The Nursing/Allied Health department is hosting a fundraiser to help raise money to support the Highland Community College food pantry that serves those students on our campus that need assistance. Proceeds raised from sales will go directly to help stock the shelves!!! Check out the variety of items head to toe has- Deadline to order is Saturday Nov. 22. Thank you for supporting our students!

The Highland Community College Nursing Program wishes to announce that it will host a site visit for continuing accreditation of its
Associates Degree nursing program by the
Accreditation Commission for Education in
Nursing (ACEN).

You are invited to meet with the site visit team and share your comments about the program in person at a meeting scheduled at
4:00 pm on Tuesday September 30, 2025 in
Building N (Natural Science building) room 158 located at

On May 3, our NSO members and family health students hosted a stuff the bus event to collect donations for women and children in our community. The totals are in! They collected over 800 diapers and over 1,000 additional items from personal hygiene, baby clothing, socks, oral care items, and baby care items. Way to go at helping the community! Donations were distributed to a variety of community centers that serve women and children in need. Pictured include Bryn Greenfield, Katiana Rodriguez, Sitlali Gonzalez-Castro, and Desiree Jackson.
