Bright, colorful eggs will be abundant over the next two weekends.

Thousands of the plastic, treat-filled containers will be covering lawns as well as indoor facilities during numerous area Easter egg hunts. The Easter Bunny also will be making the rounds to greet kids and smile for photos.

We've done the hunting for the area events so you don't have to. Here's a roundup of where to find Easter egg hunts in Fremont and the surrounding area:

St. Matthew egg hunt
St. Matthew Lutheran Church's 17th Annual Easter Egg Hunt will begin at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 28, at the church, located at 300 S. Second St., in Cedar Bluffs. The egg hunt is for kids ranging from infants through the sixth grade.

Fremont Knights of Columbus
Where: In and around Delaney Hall at St. Patrick Catholic Church, 2400 E. 16th St.,

Fremont
When: Saturday, March 28, 9:30 a.m.

Details: Weather permitting, there will be separate areas outdoors with plastic eggs filled with candy and trinkets for four different age groups of kids. If the weather is uncooperative, the event will move indoors. The Easter Bunny will be onsite for photos and high 5's. Bring your basket. All are welcome.

First State Bank of Nebraska
Where: Colon Community Park, Colon

When: Saturday, March 28, 10 a.m.

Details: The egg hunt is being sponsored by First State Bank of Nebraska. Attendees can get their picture taken with the Easter Bunny and have a chance to win $25 when they open a new minor savings account with First State.

Fremont Hy-Vee
Where: Hy-Vee, 840 E. 23rd St., Fremont

When: Saturday, March 28, 10 a.m. to noon

Details: Families are invited to enjoy breakfast, cookie decorating and coloring sheets. Breakfast will be served in the Market Grille and the egg hunt will be around the store.

St. Matthew egg hunt
The youngest hunters gather Easter eggs during the 2025 Easter egg hunt at St. Matthew Lutheran Church in Cedar Bluffs. There will be three separate egg hunt areas based on age: preschool (includes infants and toddlers); kindergarten through second grade; and third through sixth grade.

St. Matthew Lutheran Church
Where: St. Matthew Lutheran Church, 300 S. Second St., Cedar Bluffs

When: Saturday, March 28, 11 a.m.

Details: The 17th annual Easter egg hunt is for children ranging from infants through the sixth grade. There will be three separate egg hunt areas based on age: preschool (includes infants and toddlers); kindergarten through second grade; and third through sixth grade. The egg hunt will start promptly at 11 a.m. with the ringing of the church bell, so everyone should arrive by 10:55 a.m. to allow time to get to the proper egg hunting area for their age group. The egg hunt will feature thousands of colorful treat-filled eggs and prizes. The Easter Bunny also plans to make an appearance.

Fremont Izaak Walton
Where: Izaak Walton Lodge, 2560 W. Military Ave., Fremont

When: Saturday, March 28, 1 to 3 p.m.

Details: The egg hunt will kick off promptly at 1 p.m. and runs until 3 p.m. The age groups are 0-4, 5-8, 9-11, and 12+. Prizes will be awarded. The Easter Bunny will be there for some added fun.

Keene Memorial Library
Where: Keene Memorial Library, 1030 N. Broad St., Fremont

When: Friday, April 3, 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Details: The library's Eggstravaganza will include storytime, photos with Pat the Bunny, and an egg hunt inside the library. No registration is required. The event is being sponsored by Friends of Keene Memorial Library.

Scribner-Snyder PTA
Where: Dodge County Fairgrounds and the "Hog Yard" outfield, 201-299 Fairacres Road, Scribner

Details: The Easter Bunny will be present for photos.

StoneBridge Christian Church

When: Saturday, April 4, 10 to 11:30 a.m.

Details: The Easter Bunny is planning to hide thousands of eggs at StoneBridge - Fremont Campus, and expert egg hunters are needed to find them. This free event, titled "The Great Egg Hunt," is open to everyone.

Nye Legacy
Where: Nye Legacy, 3210 N. Clarkson St., Fremont

When: Saturday, April 4, 1 p.m.

Details: Kids are invited to bring their own basket and search for colorful eggs. The hunt kicks off at 1 p.m., so everyone is urged to arrive a little early to get ready. Details: Everyone is asked to arrive by 1 p.m. The egg hunt will start at 1:15 p.m. The Easter Bunny will be available for photos.

Nye Square
Where: Nye Square, 655 W. 23rd St., Fremont

When: Saturday, April 4, 2 p.m.

Details: Snacks and drinks will be provided in the lobby. The Easter Bunny and a chick will be there for photos. Kids can pick their favorite egg color. Keep an eye out for golden eggs just for parents.

North Bend Community
Where: North Bend City Park

When: Saturday, April 4, 4 p.m.

Christian Women's Noon Connection will meet for a noon luncheon on Monday, March 9, at the Midland University Dining Hall, Ninth and Pebble streets, in Fremont.

A presentation will be given by Ron Giesselmann, executive director of the Masonic Eastern Star Home for Children. Music will be provided by Debbie Nelson.

Anne Bremar of Waverly will speak on "The Life of a Brat." Bremar was an Army brat. She is a singer and activities director for elder care facilities. She also has written a devotional.

The cost of the luncheon is $16. To make a reservation, call Pat at 402-720-3847 by Tuesday, March 3. Honoring your reservation is necessary.

Blues and BBQ will be featured at a March 1 fundraiser at St. Pat's Auditorium in Fremont.

A BBQ meal will be served from 4:30 to 6 p.m. A show featuring Bergan's middle school/high school band and choir will begin at 6 p.m.

The cost is $15 for an adult meal and show and $10 for a student meal and show. A meal to go will be $10 while a musician meal will be $5.

All proceeds will go to the Bergan Catholic Music Department's trip.
