Kentucky Derby day!! We celebrated the Kentucky Derby this week, we have our ladies in their fine hats, residents and staff. We played the horse racing game for their entertainment. We had 3 winners of the Derby. First place was Ken L. Second place was Joan B. And 3rd place was Rosemary R. For our social hour, we had food that would be served at the Kentucky Derby. We had cheese and meat sliders, we had pecan pie layer of chocolate, and pecan cake balls, Lemonade, coffee. It tasted amazing!! Our kitchen staff did a great job making all the food!!

Every year we do a volunteer luncheon for our volunteers. Some of them have program they do for us such as entertainment, running the husker Hut, helping with activities. This is one way we can show our appreciation by having a nice little luncheon for them. We would like to thank all our volunteers that help us at Dunklau Gardens. All of you help us in so many ways!

Long time Husker coach Ron Brown was our guest at Dunklau Gardens with”Topics with Tammy" on April 15. Ron is the fullbacks and returners coach for the third straight year in 2026. Ron served as an assistant coach for the Huskers for 24 seasons. He was part of 3 National Championships. Thank you Ron

Every year on Good Friday we decorate the wooden cross with flowers. We call it, flowering the cross, and our residents, staff and families all help making this cross so beautiful. This is one of the traditions that Dunklau Gardens has done for many years. Thanks Baker’s for donating all the carnations and everyone that helped us finish it.

Long time Husker coach Ron Brown will be the special guest of "Topics with Tammy" at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 15 at Dunklau Gardens. Ron is the fullbacks and returners coach for the third straight year in 2026. Ron served as an assistant coach for the Huskers for 24 seasons. He was part of 3 National Championships. Ron was the keynote speaker of the 2019 Fremont Area Leadership Prayer Breakfast.
