This year we went to the bellevue Berry, pumpkin patch. We had a campfire this year and had a hot dog roast and made some s’mores. We took a hay rack ride and picked up our pumpkins, the pumpkin patch was a lot of fun for everyone!!

The last dream that the Dream Weavers granted to one of our residents was Rosemary. Rosemary really loves the Irish, she enjoys watching Notre Dame play, and truly wanted to go to the game. Unfortunately, with it being eight hours away, she was not able to go. The Dream waivers had a big tailgate party for her at Dunklau Gardens with all her favorite food catered by Hy-Vee, Notre Dame outfit for the big game, balloons, necklaces and all the football trinkets with Notre Dame on everything. She truly enjoyed her day.

The next two dreams were to go to the husker football game, Bonnie and her sons went to the Huskers football game and Ellis and her daughters went with her to a Huskers football game. They were able to enjoy time with their family. They also received a gift card for the concession stands, new Husker gear the football game.  transportation to and from the game.

The next dream was Janis ‘Sue’. She wanted to have dinner with her family in the dining room at Dunklau. She also wanted Kentucky fried chicken and all the fixings. She also received a cat blanket and pillow. She loves cats and she loves jewelry. The Dream Weavers gave her all different kinds of jewelry.

This summer the Dream Weaver foundation granted some wishes for our Dunklau Residents. Helen wanted to go Big Red Keno Club to have a cheeseburger and a glass of Bud Light with here friends. Dream Weavers set up the evening for Helen and her friends and a caregiver to go to big red Keno with a new outfit, motorized cat and a few more gifts.

Fremonter Joy Jensen, who has led music programs at local churches and sung in several local, secular musical productions, was the special guest of "Topics with Tammy" on Aug. 6. Joy shared her life experiences and sang a few songs, including a couple with her mother, Arlene Brewer! Residents enjoyed learning about Joy and hearing her and her mother sing!

Help us recognize some of the amazing work being done at Dunklau Gardens in Fremont!

We’re proud to announce that Dunklau Gardens – located on the campus of Methodist Fremont Health – has become the first skilled nursing facility in Nebraska to obtain the Skilled Nursing Facility Stroke Rehabilitation Certification offered by the American Heart Association.

“This certification is a testament to our efforts in the rehabilitative process,” said Tammy Deemer, RN-BC, LNHA, administrator for Dunklau Gardens. “And it’s a promise to our community that we will continue seeking out the most innovative, individualized approaches to stroke care and beyond.”

Country Fair,
The residents and staff had fun with the fair activities. We started out the day with our silent auction, with baskets from each department, our annual bake sale, and Fairy Hair saw here to put fairy tinsel in their hair, followed by a country grill out of hamburgers and hotdogs. For the afternoon we had a couple different games to play. For our social hour we made some fair food including funnel cake. It was a great day, and everyone enjoyed the day!

Alex France, was our special guest for "Topics with Tammy" August 13. Alex is an orientation counselor at the Nebraska Commission For The Blind. He enjoys helping blind and low-vision inividuals become more independent. He likes spending time with family, running, and hanging out with his dog, Marina!

This summer we had many grill out days for the residents. This is one of their favorite activity.
