Go Red For Women Day on Feb. 6 is a reminder that heart attack symptoms in women can be subtle and easy to dismiss. Women may feel nausea, dizziness, unusual fatigue, shoulder or upper back pain, or heartburn instead of crushing chest pain, and ignoring these signs can be dangerous. Washington Health will soon introduce the ION robotic bronchoscopy system, a new technology that helps doctors find and biopsy small lung nodules using a minimally invasive approach. This advanced system allows physicians to reach areas of the lung that were previously hard to access, often avoiding the need for more invasive procedures or surgery. Our team successfully completed the first Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair procedure at Washington Health using TriClip, performed by Dr. Harsh Agrawal and Dr. Sangeetha Balakrishnan. This minimally invasive procedure treats leaky heart valves by securely clipping the valve leaflets together, reducing blood leakage and improving heart function without the need for open-heart surgery. We’re proud to bring this advanced, life-saving treatment to our community, close to home.
