On April 29, we’re celebrating a major milestone for the newly-expanded UCSF – Washington Cancer Center: 100 days of caring for patients from across the Tri-City Area.

One of those patients is Paul Bonderson, a cancer survivor who received lifesaving treatment close to home, surrounded by those who matter most.

As more patients turn to us for support, we’re asking our community to help us keep growing.

Your gift supports advanced technology, treatments, clinical trials, and essential programs and services to our community, close to home.

Will you help us reach 100 gifts in honor of our first 100 days of care?

Vaisakhi, also pronounced Baisakhi, is a very important day for Sikhs and one of the most colorful events in the Sikh calendar. Vaisakhi marks the beginning of the new solar year and it holds great significance for both Sikhs and Hindus as it also represents the birth of the Sikh identity. Celebrations are not restricted by faith, community, or beliefs; they are celebratory of the freedom of not being coerced to conform to one religion. It has many celebrations with traditional dances, lively music, and tasty food. Vaisakhi is seen as a spring harvest celebration primarily in Punjab and Northern India, but is observed in other states of India and around the world. Vaisakhi marks the first day of the month of Vaisakh.

A projected shortage of primary care physicians in California could make it harder for patients to access timely care, increasing wait times and reliance on emergency rooms. Washington Health is addressing this need by expanding the role of Advanced Practice Providers, including nurse practitioners and physician associates, to work alongside physicians and improve access to high-quality care. This team-based approach allows for more personalized attention, stronger patient relationships, and better overall outcomes.
