At Nye, caring for our residents means paying attention to the little things—and stepping in when it matters most.

Last week, Donna shared with a team member that she had run out of water. Her family wasn’t able to bring more before she ran out, and our grocery run had already passed. Instead of letting it wait, our Life Enrichment team made sure Donna had a case of water to hold her over.

Donna was grateful—and we were happy to help. Moments like these remind us that 𝒑𝒆𝒐𝒑𝒍𝒆 𝒍𝒊𝒗𝒆 𝒉𝒂𝒑𝒑𝒚 𝒉𝒆𝒓𝒆 because they’re cared for like family. Going above and beyond isn’t extra—it’s who we are. 💧💙

Last week, we hosted our Festival of Trees Open House, and it was such a joyful way to celebrate the season! We loved welcoming community groups and showcasing the beautifully decorated trees that filled our space with holiday cheer.

A special congratulations to Tree #12, Lutheran Family Services, which was voted the Festival of Trees winner! 🏆🎄And of course, a big thank you to Mr. and Mrs. Claus for stopping by and spreading extra holiday magic for everyone to enjoy.

Nothing brings the holiday spirit like live music! 🎶 Thank you to the Cedar Bluffs Public Schools Band for visiting our Nye Square campus last week and performing beautiful Christmas songs for our residents. Deck the Halls was a favorite and had everyone smiling!

Please join us in welcoming Kelly Kontor as the new Director of Nursing at Nye Square!

Kelly began her healthcare career right here at Nye Square as a CNA, later becoming a Medication Aide before pursuing her nursing degree. She went on to graduate from Union College in Lincoln and built a strong clinical background in emergency medicine, cardiology, and the ICU.

She continued advancing her leadership skills by earning a master’s degree in Nursing Management and Leadership from Nebraska Wesleyan University. Kelly has also served as a Clinical Coordinator at Nye Legacy and most recently worked as a Heart Failure Care Coordinator with the Methodist Cardiology Clinic.

We are delighted to have Kelly back with the Nye family and look forward to the leadership and compassion she brings to our community!
