🧀 Multi-Grilled Cheesy Sandwich Recipe
🕒 Prep & Cook Time
Prep: 10 minutes
Cook: 10 minutes
Total: 20 minutes
Serves: 2 sandwiches
🧂 Ingredients
Base:
4 slices of bread (thick-cut white, sourdough, or brioche work best)
2 tbsp butter (softened)
1 tbsp mayonnaise (optional, for extra crispiness on the outside)
Cheese layer (use a mix for maximum melt and flavor):
½ cup mozzarella (stretchy melt)
½ cup cheddar (sharp flavor)
¼ cup gouda or provolone (creamy richness)
¼ cup parmesan (for that tangy kick)
Optional add-ins (choose your favorites):
2 tomato slices
1 small onion, caramelized or thinly sliced
2–3 cooked bacon strips or chicken slices
A pinch of chili flakes or black pepper
Fresh herbs (like basil or parsley)
🔥 Instructions
Prep the Bread
Spread butter (and a thin layer of mayo if using) on one side of each bread slice — this will be the outer side that toasts.
Assemble the Sandwich
On the unbuttered side of two slices, layer the cheeses evenly.
Add any extras you like (bacon, tomato, onion, herbs).
Top with the remaining bread slices, buttered side facing out.
Grill It Up
Heat a non-stick pan or grill pan over medium heat.
Place the sandwiches on the pan and grill for 2–3 minutes per side, pressing gently with a spatula until both sides are golden brown and crispy.
To get an even melt, cover the pan with a lid for the last minute.
Optional Multi-Grill Twist 🔁
After the first round, open the sandwich, add another thin cheese layer (or a new ingredient like caramelized onions), then re-grill briefly — that’s the “multi-grilled” effect: extra melt, extra crisp!
Serve
Slice diagonally, let the cheese stretch a little 😍, and serve hot.
🍅 Serving Ideas
Pair with tomato basil soup, fries, or a green salad.
Add a drizzle of honey mustard, sriracha mayo, or garlic aioli for dipping.
