We're always asked, "Why do you hand out free fruit and healthy snacks? What's the catch?" โ๏ธ๐ค
Wellness Wednesday was born out of the idea that health and wellness should never be put on the back burner. NCHA surveys showed that only about 3% of students eat the recommended amounts of fruit and vegetables, and we wanted to shift the narrative. ๐๐ผ
From rushing from class to class to worrying about that next essay, has been an over five-year tradition we have kept with one simple goal: to prioritize wellness in a quick, easy, (and sometimes fun!) wellness break! No catch, no nothing, just free fresh fruit to keep our Bulldogs healthy and well while they're on the go. ๐ฉท
That can be done with a banana to go, a flyer you pick up while running to the Library, or even by taking a moment to ask our RD, Stephanie, questions about nutrition and other Health Center topics. ๐
