Day 5 of 14 Gentle Invitations for Your Relationship 🌿

As a highly sensitive person, I used to believe every pause meant rejection. But the truth is — a pause often means there’s space being created: space to breathe, to reflect, and to respond with more care. 🕊️

💌 Today’s gentle invitation: The next time you notice a pause in your relationship, try to see it as a doorway to clarity rather than a dead end. Trust that stillness can also hold connection. 🌱

Both my partner and I are highly sensitive people. 🌸

It’s a gift in so many ways.

For us, it looks like:

✨ Being really intentional about how we spend our time together

✨ Long walks and being outdoors where we can slow down

✨ Preferring deeper conversations over surface-level ones

Of course, it also means:
🌿 Sometimes needing to pause and reset when we both feel overstimulated
🌿 Learning to communicate gently so we both can feel heard

Being two sensitive souls together is tender and grounding. It’s taught me that sensitivity in love isn’t something to “fix” — it’s something to honor.

And I’m grateful we get to keep learning how to do that together. 💕

Summer Bucket List for the Highly Sensitive Soul (HSP Edition) ✨🌿

Summer can be beautiful — but it can also be overstimulating if you’re a Highly Sensitive Person. Here’s your gentle, soul-nourishing bucket list 💛

🍃 NATURE & QUIET TIME
– Morning walks before the world wakes up
– Forest bathing (yes, it’s real!)
– Stargazing wrapped in a cozy blanket
– Sunset picnics in peaceful spots
– Botanical garden visits (go on a weekday!)
– Nature journaling — sketch, write, reflect
– Wildflower or herb picking for your windowsill

🎨 CREATIVE & REFLECTIVE MOMENTS
– Start a summer art project (watercolor? photos?)
– Write poetry or seasonal reflections
– Make a sensory board — textures, smells, colors you love
– Read deeply emotional novels in a quiet nook
– Slow journaling with iced tea & soft background music

💆‍♀️ GENTLE SELF-CARE
– DIY spa day: bath, oils, soft music, no rush
– One full day without screens — just analog joy
– Curate your own calm summer playlist
– Nap in a hammock (or by an open window)
– Restorative yoga or yoga nidra at sunset

💛 MEANINGFUL CONNECTION
– 1:1 coffee dates with someone who “gets you”
– Attend a quiet workshop, retreat, or healing circle
– Host a low-key gathering: candles, music, deep talk
– Volunteer with animals or a cause that fills your heart

🚗 SLOW ADVENTURE
– Day trip to a small town, lake, or uncrowded beach
– Cozy cabin or tiny home weekend escape
– Museum or gallery wandering (mid-week = quiet!)
– A personal “yes day” — follow only what feels good

✨ HSPs, your sensitivity is a gift — let summer meet you gently.
Which one are you doing first? 🌻

one of the biggest ways I practice mindfulness as a therapist is through dancing 💃🏽

you have to be present and in the moment to follow where you’re partner guides you.

some days I get tense and anxious but some days when I am really connected to my body I am able to flow more easily

I am excited to spend 3 days learning and growing to be a better dancer 💃🏽

You’ve probably heard of the 5 senses… but did you know there are 3 more that live inside you?

Your interoceptive sense helps you notice hunger, thirst, pain, and emotion. And it’s deeply tied to a small region of your brain called the insular cortex.

This part of the brain helps us feel what’s happening within—and when it’s underactive or overwhelmed, we might struggle to name our needs, regulate emotions, or feel connected to our bodies.

🧠 Conditions like ADHD, OCD, autism, anxiety, PTSD, and disordered eating can impact how this part of the brain works. But here’s the good news: the insula can be gently supported and rewired with time, safety, and practice.

🌿 Want to learn more about your interoceptive system? Save this post for when you want to come back to your body.

You don’t have to guess your way through overstimulation anymore.

Learning about your sensory profile is like having a map to your nervous system. 🧠🌿
It helps you better understand what supports you, and gives you language to ask for what you need.

Some of us seek. Some of us avoid. All of us are just trying to feel safe.

You’re not “too much” for needing support—you’re just right.

💬 Let me know below: do you resonate more with sensory seeking or sensory avoiding? Or a little of both?

✨ You are not too much. You’re just deeply attuned. 🌿

Most of us were taught we have five senses—but there are actually eight.

And understanding them can completely shift how we relate to overstimulation, grounding, and self-soothing.

If you’ve ever felt “too sensitive,” this might bring a little more clarity—and a lot more compassion. 💗

Swipe through to meet your 8 sensory systems…

And maybe get to know yourself a little better along the way. 🧠💫

👇 I’d love to hear—
Which of your senses do you feel the most in tune with lately?
