🦋 Hospice Care Matters—Now More Than Ever

Recent changes in the local hospice landscape remind us of one essential truth:

Prompt hospice care transforms the end-of-life experience.

Early referrals mean more time for comfort, symptom management, and meaningful moments with loved ones.

A study published in the Journal of Pain and Symptom Management (Vol. 33 No. 3 March 2007) reported that hospice care actually prolongs the lives of some terminally ill patients. Among the populations studied, the mean survival was 29 days longer for hospice patients than for non-hospice patients.

🦋 Butterfly Moments in Action at CRMC! 🦋

Butterflies aren’t just part of our logo—they symbolize transformation, comfort, and the gentle care we provide every day at AseraCare Hospice.

Our team recently had the joy of celebrating Case Management Week at Community Regional Medical Center 🩷 We joined the vendor fair to honor the incredible case managers who guide patients and families through some of life’s most tender transitions.

It was a wonderful opportunity to share our mission, connect with helping professionals in the valley, and spread the word about our Butterfly Moments—those meaningful, compassionate experiences that define hospice care.

A few key highlights of our Butterfly Moments include:
🦋Weekly Butterfly Moments Newsletter filled with Happiness Tips, Hospice Education, and information about recent and upcoming events

🦋Trees in Memory Program- Available to all of our patients, this program plants a tree in a national forest after someone transitions

📍 Fresno, CA | PRN/Contract
💼 10–15 hours/month

Are you a compassionate physician with a heart for hospice care?

Join our dedicated team at AseraCare Hospice as an Associate Medical Director and help us provide exceptional end-of-life care to patients and families in the Central Valley.

What You’ll Do:

Support our Medical Director with IDG meetings, on-call needs, and face-to-face visits (as needed)
Collaborate with attending physicians to ensure quality palliative care and symptom management
Certify and recertify terminal diagnoses
Serve on our Professional Advisory Committee
Offer clinical consultation for complex patient needs

What We’re Looking For:

MD or DO with a current, unencumbered license in California
Board certification in hospice & palliative care is a plus (but not required)
Passion for hospice and palliative medicine
CPR certified, with valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Hospital medical staff membership preferred
