Dr. Carlos Paz is a board-certified dermatologist and fellowship-trained dermatologic surgeon. He received his bachelors of science degree from Yale and both his MD and PhD degrees from Harvard. Following an internship in General Surgery at the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), Dr. Paz completed residency in dermatology at the University of Chicago, and then pursued specialized training in Mohs Micrographic Surgery, lasers, and cosmetic surgery in Miami, Florida. He completed an ACGME-approved Procedural Dermatology fellowship under the tutelage of Dr. Eli Saleeby, a Mohs Surgeon who trained directly with Dr. Fredrick Mohs, the physician for whom Mohs Micrographic Surgery is named. During his fellowship, Dr. Paz also gained extensive experience in various cosmetic procedures including liposuction, hair transplantation, mini face-lifts, blepharoplasty (eye lid surgery), sclerotherapy (vein treatment), and the use of lasers, Botox, and fillers. Dr. Paz has also received specialized training by Dr. Jeffrey Klein, the physician who invented the Tumescent Liposuction method.
Dr. Paz has published numerous journal articles, written book chapters, and given presentations at national meetings. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Society of Dermatologic Surgery, American College of Mohs Surgery, and is a member of the California Medical Association and the Fresno-Madera Medical Society.
Dr. Paz enjoys traveling, fishing, reading, and art collecting. He and his wife, Vivian, are natives of Fresno County.
