For more than 15 years, the San Joaquin College of Law has brought holiday cheer and smiles to the Marjaree Mason Center.

Every year, they bring gifts for adults and children receiving services at MMC, shared a meal together, and Santa stopped by for photos with families. A choir also joined us to sing holiday songs, filling the space with warmth and celebration.

The holidays can be a particularly difficult time for those who have experienced domestic violence, and this annual event brought so much joy to survivors overcoming their darkest times. We so much appreciate this continued tradition!

This holiday season, we’re reminded that the greatest gifts don’t come wrapped 🎁

The Fresno Pacific Women’s Basketball Team spent their time and hearts volunteering with our Trees of Hope program—sorting donations and carefully putting together wishes that will bring comfort, hope, and joy to those who need it most this holiday season.

By showing up, they helped support and stand with survivors, reminding them that they are seen, valued, and never alone. We are incredibly grateful for these women who chose to serve, love, and uplift our community in such a meaningful way.

The Marjaree Mason Center is so deeply grateful for our incredible staff. Earlier this week, we gathered to celebrate their compassion, dedication, and heart that each one of them brings to their work here at MMC every single day.

Sharing a meal, laughing together, and building gingerbread houses gave us a moment to pause, connect, and simply enjoy one another. While the work we do is heavy and meaningful, moments like these remind us of the strength of our community and the care we have for one another.

We are thankful for a team that shows up with empathy, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to those we serve. This season, we celebrate our staff—the heart of the Marjaree Mason Center—and the joy, support, and hope you help create every day.

Your generosity can create a lasting impact for those who need it most.

By donating stock or other appreciated assets, you’re helping ensure that our life-saving services continue to operate 24/7, 265 days a year.

It could also give you a significant tax advantage as we approach the end of the calendar year. Every gift—big or small—helps provide safety, support, and hope to individuals and families experiencing domestic violence.

If you’d like to explore these giving opportunities or discuss how to leave a meaningful legacy, please reach out to Ashlee Wolf, our Director of Philanthropy and Communication, at (559) 487-1313 or email ashlee@mmcenter.org. Together, we can make a difference that lasts a lifetime.

When community comes together, big things happen.

Irma partnered with First Chinese Baptist Church to host an afternoon tea fundraiser benefiting MMC—her second time doing so!

Their 70 guests donated wishlist essentials, including full size shampoos and conditioners and 5,600 baby wipes.

We’re so incredibly grateful for this continued support. Visit www.mmcenter.org to donate today!

About the Marjaree Mason Center

The Marjaree Mason Center (MMC) was founded by the YWCA in 1979 following the death of Marjaree Mason. Marjaree was a successful, loved woman about to graduate from Fresno State at the time her life was tragically taken by her ex-boyfriend. Her death galvanized the Fresno community into taking action to ensure no one would suffer the same fate. For over 40 years, the Center has served as Fresno County’s only dedicated provider of domestic violence shelter and support services, including education for victims and youth. At MMC, we support and empower adults and their children affected by domestic violence while also striving to prevent and end the cycle of abuse through education and advocacy. We hope that one day our services are no longer necessary in our community.
