Hoping to escape the bitter winters of Chicago, Dr. Orathai Sangrujiveth came to Fresno in 1985, where she set up an office across the street from Fresno Community Hospital. Word slowly leaked out about a new great pediatrician in town, and she was able to attract patients far and wide to downtown Fresno. She has been practicing pediatric medicine nonstop since then. Her three children eventually graduated from Clovis West High School, and dispersed off into many directions. The oldest one, New Sang, went from Los Angeles to Dublin, Ireland, to Honolulu, Hawaii, to the Garden Island of Kauai, and then back again to Fresno. Along his travels, he was able to pick up a degree for doctoring, and became a pediatrician like his mom. He decided to move back to Fresno to stay close to his parents, and raise his children in the family oriented culture of the Central Valley. Together, they form a pediatric clinic servicing the health needs of children from birth to 21 years of age. They give immunizations, health checks, sports physicals, circumcisions, and treat ailments from ADHD to the flu. They have had over 50 years of experience providing health care to the children of the Central Valley.

Misinformation about vaccines is dangerous β€” and our children deserve better.

Following Dr. New Sang's Fox 26 segment on Hepatitis B, he wants our Sang Pediatrics community to understand exactly where we stand:

βœ… Want to space vaccines? We'll work with you.
βœ… Need to delay? We'll create a plan together.
βœ… Our policy: all children fully vaccinated by age 2.

That timeline isn't arbitrary β€” it's designed to protect your child during the years they are most vulnerable to serious, life-altering illness.

If your child is over 2 and you're ready to vaccinate, we will welcome you back. We just ask that you commit to getting them fully protected β€” because these diseases are real, and the harm they cause is preventable.

We don't judge. We don't pressure. But we will always be honest with you β€” because your child's life may depend on it.

As doctors, we know how important it is to get certain things right. As we always say, if you put the decimal place in the wrong spot, you gave 50 mg instead of 5 mg, and you just killed somebody. But perfectionism in itself can release stress hormones in your body if you get it wrong, and the effort it takes to cover up mistakes makes it worse.

Therefore, it maybe more important to be exact in precise on certain tasks, like calculating the medication dose, and at the same time forgive yourself if you can't be the perfect person. Like Steph Curry, the greatest shooter who ever lived, he will miss over half of his three point shots, but when it really counts, he's ready to nail the shot when it matters, and the gold medals and NBA trophies will follow by not beating himself, but believing that the next one will go in.

So what are you waiting for? Learn how to break the cycle of perfectionism and anxiety, and you can teach your children to achieve greatness.

When you see the world as selfish and out to get you, your brain goes into overdrive β€” hyper-vigilant, over-protective, pushing away the people who could actually help. That's cynicism. Healthy skepticism is different. It uses logic, not fear. It asks "why?" instead of assuming the worst. Your kids are watching which lens you choose.

Dr. New Sang had the privilege of speaking at Stanford Graduate School of Business last week, and had a great time! He discussed relieving parental anxiety, and how anxiety affects all of us, as a doctor, business owner, parent, sons, daughters. He and the attendees were able to regulate their emotions and their nervous systems, and many were inspired. Dr. Sang was so inspired by the talk, he decided to finish his book on parental anxiety, which has been published this week! It's entitled: Relieving Parental Anxiety, Perspectives from a Pediatrician. Many topics from the talk made it into the book, and it's also a part memoir, giving the reader a human connection to the award winning doctor. Here's the link: https://a.co/d/0eoZYeK9

Holding onto grudges from the past is like a weighted blanket that you're carrying around with you everywhere you go. It holds you back from achieving great things. The power of forgiveness is really in your hands, and releases you from the pains of past misdeeds. Forgiving others also unlocks the ability to forgive yourself, as we are all not perfect beings. So take steps toward inner peace, and live a life of forgiveness today! Your children will appreciate you for doing so.
