Fellow Colleagues and friends:
The California Optometric Association is in need of your help! Our Optometric scope expansion bill is going to the assembly floor tomorrow for a final vote! AB2236 looks to expand the Optometric scope of practice to include small lesion removal and anterior segment lasers (PI, Yag Cap, SLT) which will help open the access to care for many patients in the Central Valley, especially in the rural areas of Fresno, Madera and Tulare County. These are the same procedures that are done in other states, in some for over 20 years. All you need to do is call your Assembly member and ask them to support AB2236! Below is a link that takes you right to your Assembly members contact information. Itβs really a short call and you are usually speaking with a staff member who is already familiar with the bill. Iβll attach a picture about the bill and talking points! πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½πͺπ½

The California Optometric Association has introduced legislation to expand the scope of practice in California. We have provided you a draft message to use when you call your Assembly Member in support of this bill. We strongly suggest you revise it...
