Can you relate?

A few weeks ago, I had a dream of a farmer walking through his vineyard pruning his grapevines back to the point that there was hardly anything left on the vine… only a few buds remained on each.

I was surprised at how much of the vine the farmer was cutting and I asked him, “why are you cutting so much?”

The farmer never stopped pruning, he simply said, “The season of radical pruning leads to a season of radical fruit.”

I haven’t been able to shake those words since that dream, “the season of radical pruning leads to a season of radical fruit.”

We have been is a season of radical stripping away and radical pruning.

It has been a time of drastic purging and even greater purifying that left us with tear stained cheeks and shaking hands as we stood in the ashes of who we used to be.

It has been a threshing floor season, where God separated the chaff from the wheat.

And for many of us, it felt like more than we ever thought we could endure as we were thrust into the refining fire.

We cried out for deliverance and the Father’s response was, “My grace is sufficient,” as He continued to allow the testing of our faith.

We were laid bare before the Lord as He took the winnowing fork to our lives, cutting and cutting until all that was left was Christ in us.

But, the season of radical pruning has lead to the season of radical fruit.

This is the hour that we will see the birthing of what the time of travail produced.

For those who didn’t quit in their wilderness, this is the hour where our faith meets His promise.

What was sown in tears last season, we will reap in joy this season.

The pruning was painful, but it was necessary to produce a great harvest.
