Why would a mom bring her newborn to the chiropractor? Well, if you think chiropractic is about neck or back pain, then it doesn’t make any sense. If you understand chiropractic is about the relationship between the spine and the nervous system, and the pushing and pulling on their bodies during birth can cause subtle restrictions in spinal motion that create tension in the nervous system and make it harder for them to regulate and coordinate every aspect of development, then it’s pretty obvious! So to answer the question - better latch for breastfeeding, more regular bowel movements, less tension and more comfort, better sleep, easier digestion, stronger immune response, and maternal confidence in proactively supporting your child’s well-being rather than waiting until there’s a problem. If you don’t wait until your car breaks down to get an oil change, why do you wait until you have a symptom to care for your body?!
Chiropractic care starts pre-conception, supports the internal environment in which the baby develops, prepares the mom’s body for birth, allows the nervous system to regulate the onset and progression of labor, and makes the transition into motherhood easier for both moms and babies. It’s that simple.
