Last Friday was National Wear Red Day for Heart Month. Our team wore red to raise awareness of heart disease and to remind everyone how important it is to take care of their hearts.

Heart disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States. A good way to protect your heart health is by scheduling an annual physical with a primary care provider. Regular check-ups, preventive screenings and conversations about lifestyle habits can make a meaningful difference in your long-term health!

After eight years as administrator, Frank Perez-Guerra will retire on January 31 from Emplify Health by Gundersen Friendship Hospital, marking the conclusion of a 30-year career with Emplify Health.

Frank led the hospital and clinics through the early years of its affiliation with Gundersen Health System, the transition to a new electronic health record, the purchase of the retail pharmacy, and the expansion of healthcare services for our community. A strong advocate of community partnerships, he recognized that the success of the hospital is deeply connected to the strength of the communities it serves.

We extend our best wishes to Frank as he begins this next chapter. He will be missed.
