🚨 Small Business Owners, Take Caution with Home Bank 🚨
As a small business owner, I have never been more disappointed in a bank than I am with Home Bank. When we first joined, it was under its previous ownership as Texan Bank, where we received outstanding service from Kristi and Kenny, who went above and beyond to support small businesses—especially during the challenges of COVID-19. Their guidance was invaluable, and it was one of the main reasons we chose a smaller, community-focused bank. 👏💙
However, since Home Bank took over, our experience has been vastly different. ❌ Their policies are not small-business-friendly, and their treatment of longtime customers leaves much to be desired. When they decided they could no longer support my business due to its involvement in the h**p industry—a legal and fully licensed business—they abruptly closed our accounts, mailing us a cashier’s check without any notice or discussion. 🚫💰
Beyond that, when my business loan payment didn’t process due to their account closure, Home Bank took funds from my 19-year-old son’s account to cover it. 😡 While I understand my responsibility in handling the payment, the lack of communication and abruptness of their actions speak volumes about how they treat their customers.
To be clear, this review is not a reflection on the team at the Friendswood branch. The staff there has always been wonderful and supportive. 💕👏 Unfortunately, corporate decisions from Home Bank’s central office have shown a disregard for small businesses and their long-term customers.
We have since moved to Truist Bank, where we are legally banked, licensed, and insured. ✅ If you are a small business owner looking for a bank that truly understands and supports you, I strongly advise you to do your research before choosing Home Bank. 🔍⚠️
I don’t normally post negative reviews, but I believe it’s important to warn other small business owners—because you deserve a bank that values and respects your business. 💼❤️
