Spring allergies acting up? Here’s a simple tip that actually makes a difference:
🚿 Shower before bed during pollen season.
Throughout the day, pollen collects on your hair, skin, eyelashes, and clothes — even if you don’t see it. When you get into bed without rinsing off, you’re essentially bringing pollen into your sheets and pillow. That means hours of ongoing exposure while you sleep.
Nighttime pollen exposure can worsen:
• Nasal congestion
• Post-nasal drip
• Cough
• Itchy eyes
• Asthma symptoms
Showering before bed (and changing into clean sleep clothes) helps remove pollen from your body and reduces what transfers onto your bedding. If a full shower isn’t realistic, at least wash your face and rinse your hair.
Bonus tip: Wash pillowcases weekly during peak pollen season.
Small habit. Big symptom control.
If your allergies are still uncontrolled despite antihistamines or nasal sprays, it may be time for a more targeted approach.
