Skin in a Minute: Causes of Acne

Dirty skin isnā€™t the onlyā€”or even the mainā€”reason for acne! Things that contribute:

* Hormones
* abnormal skin maturation and exfoliation
* over production of oils
* overgrowth of skin bacterial flora

Washing your face can help provide treatments to reduce oil and flora counts and exfoliate, like salicylic acid, or benzoyl peroxide.
