Many of my patients hesitate to freeze their eggs because they question whether they will truly need them in the future. I can tell you, none of my patients have ever returned and said, "I wish I hadn't frozen my eggs, because I don't need them."

What I DO hear often is people wishing they had frozen their eggs much sooner! None of us can predict what the future holds, but having more options means you don't need to rush into a decision, which is always preferable.

It's the weekend AND leggings season! I'm asked all the time if it is true that wearing leggings and tight clothes can affect fertility. The short answer is yes, but there's a bit more nuance to the situation.

For women, wearing tight clothes can make them more susceptible to issues like yeast infections, UTIs, and bacterial vaginosis. While none of these will cause infertility alone, they certainly don't help.

For men, tight clothes can have a more immediate effect on fertility. Tight pants can increase the temperature of the sc***um. S***m production is highly sensitive to temperature, and excessive heat can significantly reduce s***m counts. Luckily, this is usually just a temporary decline as long as the guy dresses in looser, more breathable clothin,g more optimal for s***m to thrive.

In conclusion, there's little harm in occasionally dressing in leggings or tighter clothes. However, it's better not to make it habitual and to wear breathable and comfortable clothes closer to when you try conceiving.

Facing infertility as the holiday season looms can be triggering and terribly anxiety-inducing. But you can survive it, as long as you take care of yourself.

Consider setting boundaries with family and friends about conversation topics and plan an exit strategy in case things get too difficult. And it's important to manage your own expectations. There's often a lot of pressure on what the holidays "should" be, and it's okay to accept things as they are. You are allowed to decline invitations or remove yourself from situations that cause you harm.

Remember, this may be a hard time of year, but you're not alone.

What's the song that I hear going on in the background of my life? "I Won't Back Down" by Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers!

I LOVE Tom Petty, and this one is pretty much my theme song. Life is never a straight line and has many setbacks and obstacles. But despite it all, I won't back down, and neither should you!

Fun fact: Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers' debut album launched 49 years ago this week!

I love when my patients come to their appointments with a list of questions. Meeting with your first fertility doctor can feel a little scary. But leaving an appointment without the answers you need to make that next step is even scarier. If you're nervous, here's a little cheat sheet of questions to ask so that you can understand the process and what to expect with fertility treatments. ⬇️

✅ What tests do you recommend and why?

✅ What are our treatment options and their success rates?

✅ What is the cost?

✅ What lifestyle changes can improve our chances?

🎃 Myth Buster: Halloween Edition! 🦇🕸️

There are plenty of spooky myths out there about fertility, especially this time of year. But here’s the truth:
🍬 A little candy won’t hurt your hormones
🍬 Stress doesn’t “ruin” IVF
🍬 Infertility is a medical condition; not a relaxation issue

So go ahead and enjoy a treat (or two 😉). Fertility journeys are tough enough without letting myths steal your joy.

You deserve compassion, support, and accurate information... always. 💜

Which myth have you heard the most? Drop it below ⬇️

Both, honestly. IVF meds can feel like a science experiment mixed with a haunted house of emotions.

If you’re in the middle of stimulation or gearing up for retrieval, here’s your reminder: You are doing something incredibly brave. The hormones don’t define you. Fries and fuzzy socks are absolutelytreatment-adjacent self-care. You’re not alone in the chaos, even if your calendar looks like a potion recipe.

Something that always makes me smile at work is being around my coworkers. I absolutely adore all the people I work with! I come in each day with a huge grin because I get to interact with such amazing humans who love growing and helping build our patients' families just as much as I do. It's hard to ever be in a bad mood when surrounded by such incredible people. 💕
