Back in the heyday I was a runner (cough, cough, 10+ years ago). I competed in a lot of races, half and full marathons, and even an ultra marathon once. My mantra was to just "finish the race," make it past the finish line. I didn't care about placing, I didn't care to come in first, I just wanted to complete the race and that was success to me!
Fast forward and add a few sun spots and wrinkles, I may not be running anymore, but I still live life with the concept of taking milestones and crossing the finish line. The endorphins I get when I finish drives me to the next milestone.
Long story - longer - I saw this quote and was inspired. It's not about your pace, it's not about what you don't have, who's doing something better than you, etc... it's about your life. And for as slow or fast your pace might be, the fact that you are moving towards the finish line is brilliant!
