It's a new year so let's start some healthy habits!
Screen time is something that can affect our and our children's health.
Recommendations for healthy habits:
- Avoid use at meal time and bedtime.
- Avoid keeping tvs, computers, tablets, and phones in the bedroom.
- Limit recreational screen time to 2 hours per day.
- Device curfew: stop use at least 1 hr prior to bedtime, charge in a common area of the house (not bedroom).
- Take breaks at least every 30 min. This reduces the risk of vision issues.
- Promote emotional regulation techniques in non-digital ways.
- Create a family media plan. (healthychildren.org)
