💙November Resident Spotlight🧡
Fran B🎉
Born in 1926 in the Bailey family home in Electra, Texas, Frances Bailey entered the world as one of five beloved daughters. From an early age, Frances showed a spirited and active nature—playing volleyball and performing in the Electra High School band, where her love for music and teamwork began to shine. After high school, she attended North Texas College for a year, but with World War II unfolding, Frances returned home to
support her family. She stepped into a vital role, keeping the books for her father’s appliance business demonstrating both her reliability and her deep sense of duty.
In a bold and romantic chapter of her life, Frances boarded a train from Wichita Falls to San Bernardino, California, where she married the love of her life. Together, they settled in
Fontana, California, and raised three sons—Larry, Joe, and Ron-instilling in them the same values of hard work, kindness, and resilience that defined her own life.
Frances wore many hats over the years, each one with grace and
dedication. She was a devoted housewife, a bank teller at Bank of
America, an elementary school secretary, a payroll clerk for the
Fontana School District, and even drove ice cream trucks for the
family’s side business. Her work ethic was matched only by her love
for her family and community.
When her sons left for college, Frances returned to her Texas roots,
settling in Fort Worth. There, she continued to serve others, working at Dillard’s for ten years and building new friendships and memories.
Her legacy grew with the arrival of six grandchildren and, so far, four great-grandchildren—each one a testament to the love and strength she poured into her family.
In 2013, Frances moved to Frisco Bethesda Gardens, where she was
reunited with two of her sisters, Doris and Lula. It was a full-circle moment, as Lula and her husband Billy Joe Taylor were the very first residents of Bethesda Gardens. Frances found comfort and companionship in this community, surrounded by family and friends.
Now, as she approaches her 100th birthday, Frances stands as a
beacon of grace, wisdom, and enduring love. Her life has been a
tapestry of service, family, and faith—a story that continues to inspire all who know her.
