We are excited to announce and introduce our newest team member, Nurse Practitioner Shanae! 😊 Shanae will be in the office seeing patients on Tuesdays! Before becoming a pediatric Nurse Practitioner, her nursing background was mainly in critical care, trauma, and emergency care. After becoming a mother, Shanae gained a deep passion for the pediatric population and wanted to do everything she could to contribute to the health of the children in her community.
We are so excited to have her on board! 😊🤍

As we enter into the New Year, we wanted to give you a peak at our beautiful newly renovated wellness center that is attached to our main pediatric office. In this healing space it is our hope to provide a nurturing environment to celebrate new life, new birth, and new beginnings. In this space, mom and baby can nurse and spend quiet time together before or after their doctors appointment. We hope you have an opportunity to visit our wellness center at your next appointment.

As we continue to celebrate Nurse Practitioner week, today, we would like to spotlight Nurse Practitioner, Rachel Wallace, APRN, FNP-C.

Rachel is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner who started her career in the Pediatric ICU at a level-one trauma hospital in Dallas. She then continued her career in the PICU at Cook Children's Medical Center in Prosper when it opened in 2023.
We are beyond grateful that Rachel came on board in 2024 at Healthy Kids Pediatrics where she received the majority of her training for her FNP under Dr. Deborah Bain.

Since coming on board, Rachel was nominated as one of DFW's Child-Mom Approved Nurse Practitioners for 2025. She brings a warm-smile, kindness, along with a wealth of knowledge to all of the patients she meets. We can't wait for you to meet Rachel if you have not already! Thank you for all that you do for HKP Rachel, we appreciate you!

Happy Nurse Practitioner Week!

We will be celebrating our Nurse Practitioners all week at Healthy Kids Pediatrics!

Today, we would like to celebrate and acknowledge, Jannetta McKinley, MSN, APRN, CPNP who came on board with us in May of this year. Jannetta trained as a student with Dr. Bain during the summer of 2022, and her son has been a patient of Dr. Bain's for the last 8 years!

She is a wonderful addition to our practice, has a wealth of knowledge that she brings to Healthy Kids Pediatrics as a Certified Pediatrics Nurse Practitioner and lives the functional lifestyle with her family as a mom in the practice. She has previously served as a NICU RN for 17 years and adult Oncology RN for 2 years prior to NICU. She was also nominated as one of DFW's Child-Mom Approved Nurse Practitioner for 2025. She has a very compassionate bedside manner and is loved by many of our patients. We can't wait for you to meet her if you have not already! Thank you for all you do for HKP Jannetta, we appreciate you!

As we complete our week of touring and celebrating birthing centers in the DFW Area, today, we would like to highlight Bella Births Center for Birth & Women's Health, located at 2417 Virginia Parkway, McKinney, TX 75071.

Kathleen Mayorga, APRN, CNM is a board Certified Nurse Midwife on site at Bella Births with 25 years of experience.

This center has a charming warmth as soon as you enter with plenty of toys for children to play with in the waiting room and has birthing rooms on one side of the center and women's wellness exam rooms on the other side of the center.

As we continue to celebrate and visit local birthing centers in our area, we present to you today's spotlight: Texas Family Birth & Wellness, located at 1630 W Prosper Trail, Suite 440, Prosper, TX 75078.
Kristen Parks, Certified Nurse Midwife gave us a lovely tour of her Wellness Center. In addition to the birthing suite with a ceramic tub, they also have the option of a blow up tub for mamas along with birthing balls and peanut balls.
The wellness center is fully equipped with Nitrous Oxide, Neonatal resuscitation, a fully functioning lab, and exam room for Well Women visits, and they offer sonography on site as well.

I was so impressed with how Kristen Parks designed and thoughtfully prepared the birth & wellness center.

Today, we would like to celebrate Bundle Born Midwifery, located at 11655 Independence Pkwy. suite 210. Frisco, TX 75035.

We met with Katherine who gave us a lovely tour of their center that specializes in Prenatal Care, Home Births, Postpartum & Newborn care.
On board, they have Dr. Teri Mitchell, Nurse Midwife who specializes in In Tact care & Teree Fruga, licensed midwife.

In addition, twice per week they have Dr. Kinlea Westhoff, DC, from Uprise Chiropractic, who is Webster "Pregnancy" Certified on site.

As we continue to celebrate & visit the local birthing centers in our area, we present to you todays spotlight: Allen Midwifery & Family Wellness, located at 406 W Main Street. Allen, TX 75013.

Josephine Merkle, the office manager gave us an amazing tour. This center has two birthing rooms with two bathtubs and in each room there are birthing balls & peanut balls. They have special rooms dedicated to sonograms, women's well-checks and even a space dedicated to neonatal resuscitation. In addition to Prenatal, Labor, Birth & Postpartum care, they specialize in women's health & hormones and offer well checks for men too! This is a fully functioning Family wellness center! Another hidden gem in our community!

Margie Wallis, Midwife gave us a lovely tour and introduced me to Cara Hartoon, DPT who is a pure pelvic physical therapist on site. In addition to the beautiful birthing suite inside they have a brand new outdoor center where they hold monthly child birth, labor coping skills, breastfeeding, and baby care classes. This birth center is a true hidden gem and we are so happy to partner with Frisco Midwifery & Birth Center.
