Pulsing is great for exercise, but not so great for stretching.
It might feel like you’re getting more done by pulsing, but it’s actually more productive to slow it down.
When you move quickly while stretching, your nervous system may interpret it as instability. Instead of melting into the position, the muscles may actually tense up.
We don’t want to put our bodies in positions where they feel unsafe. This is why it helps to slowly enter a stretch, hold it, and breathe. In doing so, the tissues will begin to release and re-organize. This is where mobility starts to improve.
Try this out and let me know what your experience is.
