When I first trained as a coach, the education was excellent.
And something essential was missing.
Not because anyone did anything wrong, but because you don’t know what you don’t know.
What I didn’t have then was a trauma-informed, safe, ethical framework for working with real humans who carry real experiences in their bodies and nervous systems.
And that’s one of my greatest regrets.
Because coaching isn’t just about insight or mindset.
It’s about capacity.
Safety.
Knowing how to hold complexity without causing harm.
One of the things I’m most grateful for now is that I can care for my clients at a much deeper level and train other coaches to do the same.

Here’s what I wish someone had told me when I started coaching…

Getting certified doesn’t automatically make you an effective coach. What?!

I knew the models.
I asked good questions.
I understood mindset.

And still, clients got stuck. Emotionally flooded. Shut down. Going in circles.

What I didn’t know then is that real coaching isn’t about doing more or pushing harder.

It’s about knowing how to be with a client when their nervous system is activated and their emotions feel unsafe.

Most certifications don’t teach:
 • emotional fluency
 • nervous system awareness
 • how to pace change ethically
 • how to create real safety
 • how to integrate mind, body, emotion, and action
