FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Family Health West Addresses Cybersecurity Event – No Evidence of Data Loss or Encryption

Family Health West (FHW) is actively responding to a recent cybersecurity event that was swiftly detected and contained by its IT and Informatics teams. At this time, there is no evidence that any patient or employee data has been lost or encrypted, and all attempts appear to have been successfully blocked.

Upon discovery of suspicious activity, FHW’s IT department immediately initiated established cybersecurity protocols, including system isolation, forensic review, and engagement with external cybersecurity experts to ensure the integrity of all systems. As a precautionary measure, all systems are being brought back online methodically after being verified as malware-free. None of our healthcare partners in Mesa County have been impacted and we appreciate all of their support.

“Our top priority is protecting the sensitive information entrusted to us by our patients, staff, and community,” said [Derek Biddle, Senior Director of IT at Family Health West]. “We’re taking a cautious approach as we confirm that all systems are secure and fully operational.”

Family Health West continues to collaborate with cybersecurity specialists to ensure a comprehensive review.

Updates will be provided as necessary
