ANSI chains are designed to meet American standards (ASME B29.1) and most widely used in North America. British Standard (ISO) chains, on the other hand, follow ISO 606, BS 228 and DIN 8187 dimensions for global compatibility. While both perform similar functions, they differ in roller diameter, pin diameter, inside width, making them non-interchangeable. Choosing the correct standard ensures proper fit, smooth operation and longer chain life.
