As the year comes to an end, I would like to share my thanks of the trust and support you all have shown us here at Eternal Dermatology and Aesthetics Center.

From the warm springs, sweltering summers, cool falls, and cold winters that Maryland provides, we have loved taking care of you and your hair and skin all year round. We hope to continue to support you through all 4 seasons as we enter this new year.

The placement of your neurotoxin is very important because poor placement can lead to a variety of issues, including brow droopiness or an extreme arch.

Though her Botox looks great, she may not like the arch of her brows. Make sure you get your Botox from a licensed professional and share your goals with them so that they can place your Botox more strategically.

Exogenous Ochronosis is a condition characterized by hyperpigmentation of the skin due to long-term use of hydroquinone.

Hydroquinone is generally used to treat hyperpigmentation but incorrect and long-term usage of this product can lead to irreversible hyperpigmentation. It is important to stop using the product and see your dermatologist if you are noticing increased darkening of the skin.

Acne Keloidalis Nuchae (AKN) is a common condition I treat on a daily basis. It is caused due to the curved shape of one’s hair follicle which creates ingrown hair and inflammation that leads to bumps.

Though your stylist or barber can help with your AKN, it it’s important to see a dermatologist because we can offer different medications, therapies, and treatments.

The BLCK Lux Scalp Detox Serum is a dermatologist-formulated product that helps remove lint and buildup on the scalp and the roots of your hair.

To use it, after shampooing, massage it into your scalp, leave it for 5 minutes, and then rinse it out. It can also be used as a spot treatment if you’re noticing flakes before wash-day.

Many people are unaware that bleach baths can be helpful for eczema breakouts.

Eczema can cause people to have more bacteria on their skin and it is believed that bleach baths can help kill this bacteria, reliving the itchiness and flakiness of the skin.

Bleach baths can be done in warm water for about 5 minutes, but be sure to use liberal amounts of moisturizer throughout the day.

Hair breakage can be due to a lot of reasons, but a common issue I see daily in my practice is inflammation and irritation of the scalp.

To help combat this, it is important to first use a gentle shampoo or see your dermatologist for a medicated shampoo. A good scalp detox is also beneficial to help keep your scalp clean, refreshed, and reduced inflammation.
