You don't need a forest to connect with Nature.
It's awesome if you do have one, but you don't have to.
Common myths I hear:
β’ "It's too complicated"
β’ "Only for rural living"
β’ "Requires special tools"
Truth: Nature connection happens wherever you are. A single plant, the sky outside your window, the ground beneath your feet.
It's about noticing here and now, and being aware that it's all alive.
This is the kind of awareness The Quest Series works to build. This can be as a way of moving among, or to lead you into a deeper soul tending role. https://www.soulintentarts.com/spirited-path/
On 13 December I am hosting a meet-n-greet to talk about The Quest Series, what you can expect from it, perspectives of folx who have already completed it. Please join us!

Curious about how spiritual tools can nurture your community? What if I said we are all connected? We are all in relationship? The goal isn't finding community, but realizing it.
Come to The Quest Series meet-n-greet 13 December to learn how to hold animistic awareness in the day-to-day. Learn to deepen your spiritual relationships among others doing the same.
Part of my altar to ecosystem in winter, honoring winter solstice, mother's night and Yule. I can't do the things I used to be able to in my garden, so I created these garden flags as a ritualistic way to stay in relationship with my nature spirits in season.
I always think of my grandparents on this day. I exist largely because all my grandparents united around some facet of military service in WWII. It's how all of them met.
Maybe one day we won't have to find each other that way.

π Mark your calendar: The Quest Series Meet-n-Greet is coming up!
A space to connect β really connect β with kindred souls.
I talk with so many people who struggle to find animistic community even among devoted spiritual spaces.
Looking for folks whose path is ecospiritual, who want to be in shared space with people of different cosmologies β people who feel a real need to show up as their path among others? Come to the Meet-n-Greet and learn more about The Quest Series starting in January.
β¨ My sentences will be shorter in person. Maybe.

β¨ For some people a single rune pull really hones in on what they need.
Each morning, pull one rune, revisit it during the day. So often we just pull the rune and roll. Come back to it. Intentionally bring its energy in as you move through the day. Notice how visiting with it, not just pulling it changes your relationship with it.
If you want these kinds of animistic insights into the runes, check out my book, Runic Book of Days. π
Build that relationship with the runes, one day at a time.

Here's the thing that the American public isn't ready for re, the list: Everyone is on it. Figures you adore are on that list. SA and trafficking don't honor party lines. or industries. They never have. They are not novelty, but the norm. They are the basis of our commerce and always have been. I would even venture that capitalism can't exist in its current state without them.
Stop calling them elites and call them the predators that they are.

I don't praise loads of artists, but one that I forever honor is
I encountered her music in 1992, when Little Earthquakes first came out. I saw the video and literally got in the car and went to School Kids to get the CD. I even had the privilege to see her on that tour (at the Rialto!!). That era was a snapshot of things aligning in my life exactly as I needed.
I can't imagine what my life would have been like had I not found her then. It was such a critical time with my family learning that I had been CSA by another family member. It was a horrific time and I am forever also grateful for Robin and Kay in that moment.
Tori has said Y Kant Tori Read was her greatest failure at that point in her life, and that she learned enormous lessons from that experience.
So did I. I cannot imagine a world without Silent All These Years, or Crucify, or Flying Dutchman, or Caught a Lite Sneeze...
Or Rob, for that matter.
I've never been more grateful that someone couldn't read music.

Truly grateful to honor those who came before me today. And I do so with my eyes wide open. They did phenomenal things. They did horrific things. I carry all of it. I tend all of it. It's why I'm here. Samhain for me is as much about honoring the Ancestors in the Dark Season as it is realizing the cycles I will not carry forward.
How fortunate and privileged I am to know the technology to survive, heal, and tend.

Soul Intent Arts - Embodied Soul Tending Through Nature
Iβm Kelley Harrell, and I believe we can do better.
I believe we all share the calling to be fit, embodied elders, who upon death become wise, capable Ancestors. To fulfill that calling, we must respond at a soul level. Through actionable animism I teach others to find their unique spiritual paths in support of their quiet dead, healed ancestors, fellow humans, and peaceful coexistence with the spirits of the land they live on.
Iβm an author, lifelong deathwalker and animist, and the founder of Soul Intent Arts on traditional Sissipahaw land in North Carolina. As an ordained interfaith minister, I teach others to ethically build a thriving spiritual path. My work is Nature-based, and focuses soul tending through the Elder Futhark runes, animism, ancestral healing, and deathwork.
Elder well, Die well, Ancestor well.
I offer classes, personal mentoring, longterm training through The Spirited Path, a one-year intensive study on the Elder Futhark--Reclaiming the Runes, and other classes. Contact me for mentoring sessions, or for information about The Spirited Path.
