When you run a non-profit, it is not uncommon to have moments, where you are completely and utterly overwhelmed. I don't mean in a bad way, I mean in a way that brings you comfort.
We get overwhelmed by all the love and support we get and how so many locals have made our mission theirs too.
This is the case with The Thompson Organization and Thompson Detail Center. There is so much this company does behind-the scenes to ensure our non-profit thrives.
We are often at a loss with how to convey our appreciation and gratitude, perhaps this post will at least scratch the surface!
As you can imagine, our non-profit doesn't host events because we are event planners by trade, we host events as a means to spark community involved and raise funds so we can carry out our mission to care for our cancer community. It is a process that is arduous, time consuming and expensive.
The Thompson Organization has made it clear, through their actions and support, that they want our non-profit to focus on the mission and allow them to ease the burden by selflessly supporting our fundraising events in amazing ways.
Here is how they are supporting the Fourth Annual Be Kind 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run:
- Designing and wrapping a car, transforming it into the Be Kind Mobile
- Designing and printing our yard signs and banners
- Producing videos pre-race to drum up participation
- Creating our event logo
- Lending large tents for registration, as well as setting them up and taking them down.
- Supplying volunteers day of the event.
- Promoting the event internally and across social media
- Allowing us to store event materials at their facility
Mind you, none of this is a prerequisite for the sponsorship. They do all of this because they care, they do it because they've been touched by cancer and want to give back, they do it because they are genuinely good people who love this community.
So we'd ask the next time you need help with anything regarding a large object with four tires, a hood and a steering wheel, keep it local, and consider Thompson!
