🇺🇸 Please Read 🇺🇸 Mr. P.A. Lumpkin, Jr. was inducted into the Gadsden-Etowah Patriots Association Patriot's Hall of Honor on November 5, 2025 in City of Gadsden. Please enjoy this note from his family:
Mark Lumpkin: "On behalf of my sister and her husband, Brenda and Bob McKay and my wife, Ruth, and our families I would like to thank the Patriots Association for this honor and recognition of our late father, SSgt P A Lumpkin Jr. At the young age of 22 with the world seemingly going up in flames, he did what every red-blooded American chose to do. He enlisted in the armed services of the United States. Over the next four years, our father saw the brightest and darkest that mankind could offer. Through it all, he held onto and hid a minuscule Bible that carried him through extremely tough circumstances and a small journal where he documented life as a POW. Upon return stateside, he refused to sign up for veteran benefits because he felt unworthy since he witnessed so many young men and women pay for the world’s freedom with their lives. I would like to thank the late Troy Word for starting this process when he called me one Sunday afternoon. He said if it was the last thing he did, P A Lumpkin Jr was going to be inducted into the Patriots Hall of Honor. Because he considered my Dad an unsung “HERO”. Thank you Troy and thank you to all of you for this recognition and for your service and sacrifice to this great nation of ours. Freedom is not and never has been free! GOD bless America!"
