Hello Team!

It is always hard to make the call to close the clinics and surgery center. Yesterday was easy due to the Level 3 Snow Emergency!

Closing causes a lot of extra work and stress to both you, our associates and team, and for the patient. You all worked together great yesterday and it was the smoothest process to date from our learning of having to close.

I want to thank all the staff that helped coordinate the calls to let the patients know we were closed and the great effort to get our patients rescheduled for their care. You all are amazing !

Thanks to the leadership for doing an awesome job coordinating the effort and providing a smooth process for the associates, patients, and providers, You all are truly a great TEAM !

Thank you to all providers, Physicians and APPs, that covered the hospitals and braved the tough driving conditions and cold. Your dedication is truly appreciated!

Urologists Jeff Carey, MD and Osborne with Central Ohio Urology Group recently performed the first Altaviva procedure in Central Ohio. Altaviva is a minimally-invasive neuromodulation treatment for bladder control. A small device is placed under the skin near the ankle. The Altaviva system then automatically delivers scheduled therapy stimulation pulses to the tibial nerve, which helps to reduce Urge Urinary Incontinence symptoms. This is an outpatient procedure, and no sedation or imaging is required. Patients are able to go home the same day from our Ambulatory Surgery Center.

Unlike medications or injections that target bladder muscles, the Altaviva implant targets the tibial nerve that helps control normal bladder function. The long-lasting battery is designed to deliver up to 15 years of treatment. Altaviva can be appropriate for certain patients who experience sudden urges or bladder leaks. We are excited to offer this option to our patients, and several of our Urologists / Urogynecologists will be performing Altaviva.

An Ode to the Prostate Men’s Group
For my brothers in recovery — Thanksgiving 2025
We are men bound not by weakness, but by strength.
Each of us has walked a road we never asked to travel —
but none of us walk it alone.

Every few weeks, we meet on Zoom, and I get to see smiles and familiar faces.
Some days we laugh, other days we listen.
We share stories, swap side effects, offer hard-earned wisdom,
and sometimes, when words grow quiet, we shed a tear or two.

What we share is more than a diagnosis —
it’s courage, patience, and the healing power of understanding.
We lift each other when days grow heavy,
and remind one another that life — and laughter — still belong to us.

So this Thanksgiving, I give thanks for you —
for the brotherhood that began with cancer but became something greater:
friendship, humor, hope, and the gentle reminder
that no one heals alone.

As my family gathers around the dinner table,
