Mild cognitive impairment (MCI) and dementia can share some of the same symptoms, but understanding the difference is key.

💜 Mild cognitive impairment (MCI): A noticeable decline in thinking skills without significantly affecting independence. Can include changes in memory, attention or decision-making, but can still manage day-to-day life.
💜 Dementia: A spectrum of neurological disorders causing progressive, irreversible decline in cognitive function. Dementia greatly impacts independence, communication, behavior, and the ability to complete daily activities.
