Your nervous system is always communicating.
It knows when connection feels nourishing — and when rest is the wiser choice.

Honoring that rhythm isn’t avoidance.
It’s embodied intelligence.

Courage is often quiet.
It might feel like a deep breath where urgency once lived, or a softening where tension has been holding on.

The body knows how to move toward courage — when we listen instead of demand.
✨ Like, share, and follow for somatic wisdom and grounded reflections.

Thank you for the reminder, Bad Bunny.

“The only thing more powerful than hate is love” ♥️

Thank you for centering inclusivity.

For centering humanity.

For centering love.

What a powerful display of how to embody a BRAVE HEART and how to love courageously in uncertain times.

May more people learn to lean into love over hate more and more ✨♥️✨

Your nervous system learned how to keep you safe.
Nothing about that is wrong.

Courage isn’t about pushing through discomfort or overriding what you feel.
From a somatic lens, courage is the willingness to stay present with what’s here — without abandoning yourself.

Sometimes the bravest thing you can do is slow down and listen.

Staying human means staying in relationship with yourself.
Listening. Adjusting. Resting when needed.

Courage isn’t consistency — it’s responsiveness.

February’s Somatic Essential is here, and the theme is Brave Heart.

Not the kind of “be positive” or “push through” bravery.
Not performative openness.
Not bypassing what hurts.

But a grounded, embodied courage that honors just how much many of us are carrying right now.

In times marked by political tension, social division, collective grief, and uncertainty, it makes so much sense if your nervous system feels tired, vigilant, numb, or braced for what’s next. These aren’t signs of weakness — they’re signs of care.

Our nervous systems are wise.
They know when to protect, pull back, harden, or conserve energy.

And beneath those protections, there is often a quiet longing to stay connected — to ourselves, to one another, to our shared humanity.

This month is an invitation to explore what courageous love feels like in the body.

Not love that self-abandons.
Not love that ignores harm or overrides boundaries.
But love that is regulated, discerning, tender, and brave.

You’re allowed to tend your heart slowly.
You’re allowed to rest.
You’re allowed to engage in ways that feel aligned and sustainable for you.

My Story

Hi, I’m Keri Johnson, PhD, LMHC, CDWF. I’m here to support you in rising from life’s falls, rumble with the emotions present in those face down moments, and create a revolution in your life, by re-authoring the stories that are no longer serving you.

It is my mission to offer quality therapeutic services to all, regardless of age, race/ethnicity, religious affiliation, gender identification, sexual orientation, or economic status. I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals through the various ebbs and flows, those struggles and successes that undoubtedly unfold over the chapters of one's life. For the last couple decades, the phenomena of yoga and mindfulness have been fascinations of mine both on and off the yoga mat. My sister introduced me to yoga and meditation when I was in grade school, and my personal practice has blossomed out of that first exposure many moons ago. Ignited by personal experience, supported by accredited trainings with world-renown scholars, and woven together with modern empirical research, the foundational components of my therapeutic approach are rooted in: trauma, mindfulness, authenticity, vulnerability, courage, self-compassion, and non-judgmental transparency. I am honored to work with you as you embark on exploring the various facets and nuances that create the constellation of attributes of you.
