January doesn’t have to be about fixing, improving, or pushing yourself into a new version of who you think you should be.

Presence offers something more sustainable — the ability to meet yourself exactly where you are, without judgment, and without urgency.

From here, change unfolds naturally.

As we stand at the threshold of a new year, it can be nourishing to pause — to look back at who we’ve been, honor what we’ve survived and learned, and gently turn toward what’s emerging.

This isn’t about resolutions or fixing ourselves.
It’s about choosing a guiding light — a word, phrase, or energy that becomes your North Star as the year unfolds. For me, naming my year has become a ritual of alignment… a way of anchoring into what matters most and allowing my life to meet me there.

So I’m curious — if you were to name your year…
✨ What energy are you ready to invite in?
✨ What are you called to embody more fully?
✨ What wants to be remembered as you cross this threshold?

Share your name for 2026 in the comments below.

Let’s witness one another and step into the year with intention, integrity, and a collective breath.

As we arrive at the threshold of a new year, I invite you to take one final deep breath of this one.
Let it fill you with gratitude for everything you’ve lived — the moments that shaped you, the lessons you carried, the relationships that nourished your heart.

It’s easy to rush into January with pressure, urgency, or expectations.
But maybe this year… we begin differently.
With gentleness.
With compassion.
With trust in the quiet wisdom of our own becoming.

A simple year-end reflection for your heart:
🌱 What from this year feels complete?
🌱 What do you want to bring with you into the next?
🌱 What qualities feel alive in you as the new year begins?

Write your answers down as soft guiding lights — not resolutions, not demands.
Just intentions rooted in your values, your worthiness, your truth.

May you step into 2025 with clarity, groundedness, courage, and a deep sense of compassion for who you are becoming.

Here’s to a new year held with breath, presence, and wholeness.

💫 Follow Mindful Therapy with Keri for reflections that help you enter the new year with clarity and compassion.

The Holy-Day Season can be a tender time for many of us.

Today, December 30th marks 17 years since my Dad’s unexpected passing, and even after all this time, grief still finds ways to make itself known—sometimes quietly, sometimes all at once.

Grief isn’t something to fix or get over. It’s a reflection of love that continues.
It’s memory. It’s longing. It’s the way our hearts keep reaching across time.

Living with loss has taught me that grief moves in many shapes:
• a soft ache in the chest
• a tear that arrives without warning
• a wave of laughter sparked by a shared memory
• or moments when the weight feels heavy and all-consuming

None of these are wrong. All of them are sacred.

If the holidays stir something tender in you—if your nervous system feels stretched, your heart feels raw, or you’re carrying a quiet grief that others may not see—please know you’re not alone.

Your grief does not diminish you.
It speaks to your capacity to love deeply and wholeheartedly.

May you move through this season with gentleness, pacing, and permission to feel exactly what you feel.
Holding you with tender, fierce love. ❤️

The season of giving often means pouring into others. But what if we remembered to pour into ourselves too?

Here's 5 ways you can nurture yourself during the Holy-Days.

1. Embrace Moments of Stillness - experience a deep breath, step outside in nature, and find the sacred pauses amidst the busyness

2. Deepen Your Connection with Others - not just showing up, but truly being present, choose quality over quantity, and let your interactions nourish you

3. Nourish Your Body and Soul - rest when you need to, move how you want to, and feed your Spirit what would feel best for you

4. Honor Your Energy with Boundaries - say "no" when you need to, create space for what matters, and trust your inner wisdom

5. Celebrate Your Journey - acknowledge how far you've come, honor your growth, and remember your resilience

Which of these (or others) feel most supportive for YOUR Holy-Day Season?

Today marks the Winter Solstice - the longest night of the year. I'm giving you five sacred practices to help you honor this transformative time. 🌙

The longest night isn't just about darkness - it's about the wisdom we find when we slow down enough to listen.

When we align with nature's rhythm, we remember that every ending holds the seed of a new beginning.

I invite you to explore these practices in whatever way feels authentic to you. There's no "right" way to honor the solstice - only what resonates with your spirit.

My Story

Hi, I’m Keri Johnson, PhD, LMHC, CDWF. I’m here to support you in rising from life’s falls, rumble with the emotions present in those face down moments, and create a revolution in your life, by re-authoring the stories that are no longer serving you.

It is my mission to offer quality therapeutic services to all, regardless of age, race/ethnicity, religious affiliation, gender identification, sexual orientation, or economic status. I am deeply passionate about supporting individuals through the various ebbs and flows, those struggles and successes that undoubtedly unfold over the chapters of one's life. For the last couple decades, the phenomena of yoga and mindfulness have been fascinations of mine both on and off the yoga mat. My sister introduced me to yoga and meditation when I was in grade school, and my personal practice has blossomed out of that first exposure many moons ago. Ignited by personal experience, supported by accredited trainings with world-renown scholars, and woven together with modern empirical research, the foundational components of my therapeutic approach are rooted in: trauma, mindfulness, authenticity, vulnerability, courage, self-compassion, and non-judgmental transparency. I am honored to work with you as you embark on exploring the various facets and nuances that create the constellation of attributes of you.
