The FDA is looking to increase transparency of gluten labeling and seeking information including on the "prevalence of products where rye or barley are not currently disclosed".
It's not clear whether repeated reports of malted barley in products labeled gluten-free had anything to do with this, but Gluten Free Watchdog has been warning everyone about this issue for years.
