It was great to see young people interested in maternal health. We didn’t have any goodies or giveaways, but they were like magnets to the information. They truly had the chance to grasp what a doula is and what it takes to support a pregnant family.
They initiated conversations around reproductive justice and raised concerns about the need for s*x education resources. Listen—our children are aware of what they need. They know they are the blueprint for our future. We have to create the stepping stones for them. That’s one of the reasons Birth Culture exists.

The Health Education and Training Center of Gainesville, Inc. (H.E.A.T.), in partnership with Humana, Inc., the Community Foundation of North Central Florida, and the Gainesville Community Reinvestment Area, Walmart, is proud to stand with parents and caregivers by providing free diapers to families in need. Together, we’re addressing diaper insecurity and building a stronger, more compassionate community.

Why Free Diapers Matter:

Easing Financial Strain — Diapers are expensive and not covered by most assistance programs. Our support helps ease the burden.

Empowering Parents — Dignity begins with access to essentials. Every diaper given is a step toward a healthier, more hopeful future.

Strengthening Communities — When we meet basic needs, we create resilience, connection, and care.

It's BLACK BREASTFEEDING WEEK!
Breastfeeding is such an amazing gift to human anatomy and physiology. It's free and natural! For some it's super easy, for some it's a hard journey and some can't even get started and that's okay. I'm glad we live in a world where there is space for all of it!

Let's celebrate the lady lumps! Whether they feed or give babies comfort snuggles!
