Now Online! Radiographic Manifestations of TB: A Primer for Clinicians, 3rd edition

The Curry International Tuberculosis Center/UCSF is pleased to announce the release of the 3rd edition of a longstanding and popular publication for healthcare professionals: Radiographic Manifestations of Tuberculosis: A Primer for Clinicians on Basic Radiography of Pulmonary TB.

This fully updated primer is designed for clinicians who are likely to encounter patients with TB, with the clinical use of chest radiography for diagnosis and management of TB in mind. Using the physical principles of plain chest radiography, the publication helps readers:

• Understand how chest radiographs are created and how normal anatomy and pathology are visualized using radiographs
• Read and interpret chest radiographs for the diagnosis and management of pulmonary TB
• Learn standard terminology to facilitate discussions with radiologists by using a common vocabulary to assess radiographic images

Chapters cover Basic Chest Radiograph Interpretation, Radiographic Manifestations of Pulmonary TB, and Clinical Cases.

The 3rd edition of Radiographic Manifestations of TB was written and edited by: Michael B. Gotway, MD; Philip C. Hopewell, MD; Lisa Chen, MD; and Charles L. Daley, MD.

View and/or download the publication: https://www.currytbcenter.ucsf.edu/products/radiographic-manifestations-tuberculosis-primer-clinicians-third-edition

A print version is scheduled for 2026.

Happy Nurses Week!

This Nurses Week, we pause to recognize and honor the unwavering commitment, compassion, and expertise of two of our extraordinary nurses, Jared Inman and Karen Cusano, in our health department's Disease Prevention Program. (TB/STD). Their tireless efforts in contacting, treating, and monitoring our clients make an immeasurable difference in public health and the lives of those they serve.
