With the “Jesus Season” rapidly approaching, I have been reflecting on some things I have learned being in the cremation business and want to share.

1. To***co companies love your business, but they don’t love you.

2. We really don’t need that second pork chop or biscuit.

3. Take your chances at the craps table in Biloxi, not on a motorcycle. Sooner or later, the odds show up the same.

4. Small airplanes are dangerous, experimental ones are foolish.

5. Barring injury, accidents, stupidity, and apocalypse, genetics and moderation really matter.

6. Seat belts work.

7. EVERYDAY MATTERS!

8. Don’t ever, under any circumstance, bring a knife to a gunfight.

The family patriarch, Unka Tump, of North Louisiana, on a trip to Wally World with the kiddos didn’t make it through Gator Country before his ticker went out. He was cremated by CREMATIONSONLY and the boys stopped by our office on the way back through and picked Unka Tump up for the ride home. The “boys” asked me to dip out a shot glass of his remains so they could pour them into the rear end of his Ford Jubilee. The tractor had always been a part of him and now he is part of his Jubilee!

I am guilty of this as anyone because any finger I point has four pointing back at me. I noticed at a recent family get together we had 13 people and 12 phones being used. Just talk, we can text later.(But not driving home!!)

This family released a balloon for every year old our client was when she passed with a poem in each balloon. They wrote notes on the balloon with a Sharpie. My favorite was “Mom, tell Jesus we said hello!”
