Recognizing how weight can impact a patient’s other health conditions (called co-morbidities), and driven by a commitment and passion to help our patients live their best possible lives, adding this speciality to what are now more than 20 specialities offered at Longstreet Clinic, was important and central to our mission as an organization.

There is no better example than their excitement in 2017 to dive into robotic surgery when Northeast Georgia Medical Center purchased the first daVinci robotic surgical system in the area. In fact, the surgeons at Longstreet Clinic have performed more than 11,800 robotic procedures with six of our surgeons having completed 1,000 robotic procedures or more! Leading the way in robotic colorectal surgery, hernia repair, gallbladder removals, gynecological surgery, orthopedic surgery and bariatric surgery, our surgeons can provide necessary surgeries with fewer complications, less pain, quicker recovery and smaller incisions.

Longstreet Clinic’s passion for moms and babies has been central since its founding 30 years ago. In fact, Longstreet Clinic recruited the area’s first neonatologist to the area, helped establish both neonatal intensive care units (NICUs) in Gainesville/Braselton, and recruited the area’s first and only maternal fetal specialist. And it didn't stop there. Continued work and dedication alongside Northeast Georgia Medical Center has propelled the NICU in Gainesville to Level III status, providing advanced care to our community’s newest members day after day.

On the cutting edge of innovation, Longstreet Clinic partnered with Northeast Georgia Medical Center to help establish the hospital’s first inpatient medicine program in 1997 in Gainesville which would later grow and expand throughout the NGMC footprint. Hospitalists specialize in serving those patients who are admitted to the medical center. Later, Longstreet Clinic also helped initiate the region’s first Pediatric Hospitalist Program to extend specialized coverage to patients of all ages.

A private, multi-specialty medical group with office locations in 11 northeast Georgia cities, Longstreet Clinic employs over 800 people, including more than 200 physicians and advanced practice providers who represent 18 specialties.
