While often highlights the incredible people who roll up their sleeves to support their communities, we wanted to share another side of the story - The life changed because of a donation.
When Devon Vickers was a child, a cancer diagnosis turned her world upside down. Suddenly, her days were filled with uncertainty and the unknown.
Everything changed because of a cord blood transplant, made possible by a mother who chose to donate something that is often discarded.
That single decision gave Devon a second chance at life.
Since becoming cancer-free in 2006, Devon has gone on to attend her dream school at University of Florida, marry the love of her life, and continue building a future she once wasn’t sure she’d see.
Devon never had the opportunity to thank the mother who donated her cord blood, but if she could, she would thank her for giving her life back.
Her story is a reminder of the power each of us holds to change someone’s tomorrow. Her second chance exists because of donors like you. ❤️
