TCRH is a 141-bed facility that includes acute care, ambulatory care and emergency services. TCRH offers a variety of services including inpatient and outpatient surgery, orthopedics, cardiology, stroke services and women’s health and birthing center. TCRH is considered a rural hospital that serves a large Medicare population, as well as, a total population of approximately 60,000. Meet your Nurse- Melissa Young, RN

Today we are proud to recognize Melissa Young, one of our incredible ICU nurses at Twin County Regional Hospital. Melissa has dedicated 15 years to serving our community as a compassionate, skilled, and steady presence at the bedside.

Melissa isn’t just a nurse who works in this community she’s a nurse who truly belongs to it. She’s lived here, cared for families here, and even trusts this hospital for her own healthcare needs. Her deep roots and commitment to Twin County reflect the very best of what it means to be a community nurse.

Over her impressive career, Melissa has gained experience across multiple areas Emergency Department, Med/Surg, ICU, and Cardiac Rehab making her a versatile and knowledgeable nurse. She brings calm confidence to every situation and has an incredible gift for mentoring others.

In addition to her hospital role, Melissa serves as an Adjunct Clinical Instructor for Wytheville Community College, where she helps shape the next generation of nurses. Her leadership, patience, and ability to teach through real world experience have made her a guiding light for many students and new nurses.

During her free time, Melissa enjoys spending time with her children, hiking, and traveling.
