Mom life is tough. As shown in these two depictions of my *exceptionally* sour patch kid. Taken just four minutes apart and in this order. Some days, staying patient feels impossible and recognizing my ability to self-regulate allows for them to co-regulate is so draining. But seeing their little faces makes it all worth it... most of the time 🫠

*first video is her crying at my feet saying “do my bed time” at I’m filling up my water bottle to head upstairs
*second is a Live Photo taken (FOUR MINUTES LATER) after finishing brushing both their teeth and she says “mommy, Grayson is cute” and kisses his cheek 🫠

Girl…. What? Don’t worry, first video behavior came back within 2 minutes of second photo child!

Wonderful evening building community with Mom Connections, our free group for single mamas looking for supports and community! We had a wonderful charcuterie board funded by and put together by my most talented “Jill of all trades” friend who has taught me the real meaning of community! 💜 We may have had an impromptu creepy, possibly haunted, tour, got to note each other and planned for the future! These things give me life!

Looking forward to our January meet up learning how to paint together!

Some people get handed too many “crutches.”

The world pities them, makes excuses for them, and calls it compassion.

But compassion isn’t the same as enablement.

When we lower expectations because someone is struggling, we quietly tell them they can’t rise higher.

I hold people — my clients, my friends, my partner, and myself — to the same standard:
take accountability, manage your impact, and do better when you can.

A diagnosis explains behavior; it doesn’t excuse harm.

Diagnosis = Data ≠ Destiny

You can have compassion and boundaries.
You can understand and expect growth.

That’s not cruelty. That’s respect.

Motherhood can awaken old wounds you thought were long gone. Through each phase of life, motherhood being one, we reprocess old traumas or attachment wounds in a new light.

If you’ve ever wondered why you feel anxious, on edge, shut down, or overly accommodating - it’s not because you’re “too sensitive” or “broken.”
