Meet Rachel Stomberg, MSM, Vice President of Operations & Special Projects at OSF HealthCare 💜
Rachel brings 24 years of healthcare leadership experience across private surgical specialty practices, ambulatory surgery and hospital outpatient and inpatient services. She has been in her current role with OSF for a few months, already making a meaningful impact through thoughtful leadership, collaboration and mission-driven operations.
💜 Favorite part of her role:
Rachel values knowing that the work she does behind the scenes directly supports a Catholic healthcare mission rooted in compassion, dignity and service. For her, operational excellence is more than efficiency it’s about creating environments where people feel genuinely cared for, respected and valued.
She enjoys building strong relationships with Mission Partners, understanding their challenges and helping create solutions that support them in providing the best possible care. While she may not work at the bedside, Rachel knows that every improvement she helps implement ultimately touches the patient experience and aligns her work with a greater purpose.
Another part of her role she deeply enjoys is driving strategy and change management navigating complexity, improving patient outcomes, strengthening operational resilience and expanding access to care to support a sustainable, long-term impact on community health.
🙏 What serving with the greatest care and love means to Rachel:
“Showing up for others with intention, humility and compassion. It’s seeing the humanity in every person and treating them with dignity, patience and respect. It means going beyond what is required to offer what is truly needed whether that’s a listening ear, a helping hand, or a moment of kindness. Serving with the greatest care and love is about leading with empathy, acting with integrity and creating environments where people feel valued and supported.”
✨ Fun Fact about Rachel:
Outside of work, Rachel focuses on two things that keep her grounded and growing: time with her family and continuous professional development. Both help restore her energy, sharpen her perspective and strengthen the skills she brings back to serve others more effectively each day.
Thank you, Rachel, for your leadership, purpose-driven approach and commitment to serving with the greatest care and love. We’re grateful to have you as part of the OSF Mission. 💜
