You've been lied to about postpartum recovery.

"Six weeks and you're cleared!" they say.
As if your body just magically returns to its pre-pregnancy state. As if nine months of massive physical transformation and the most intense event of your life can be undone in 42 days.

The reality is: 6 weeks postpartum is when your uterus has shrunk back and your bleeding has (mostly) stopped. That's it.

It is NOT when:
Your pelvic floor is fully restored
Your core has reconnected
Your nervous system has regulated
Your hormones have rebalanced
Your spine has realigned
You've actually healed

ACTUAL postpartum recovery? 6 to 12+ months. Sometimes longer.

And here's what your body actually needs during that time:
1. Nervous System Support (3-6 months minimum)
You spent 9 months with elevated stress hormones and then went through the most physically intense experience of your life. Your nervous system needs help shifting OUT of survival mode so it can support hormone regulation, deep healing, and true recovery.
2. Physical Balance (3-12 months)
Your pelvis expanded, your spine curved forward, your ribs flared, your organs shifted, and your ligaments stretched. None of that just "snaps back." Regular chiropractic adjustments help restore balance, support core reconnection, and prevent chronic pain patterns from setting in.

3. Hormone Rebalancing (6-18 months)
Estrogen and progesterone plummet. Prolactin surges if you're breastfeeding. Oxytocin floods and cortisol tries to regulate. These massive shifts affect your sleep, mood, energy, weight, and healing capacity. Nervous system care supports your body's ability to navigate this transition naturally.

The 6-week mark isn't the finish line. It's barely the starting line.

You didn't "bounce back." You TRANSFORMED.
Your body performed miracles—and it deserves the time, support, and care to heal properly.

That "sciatica" everyone keeps diagnosing you with?
It's probably not sciatica.

True sciatica is nerve compression at the lumbar spine—usually from a herniated disc or spinal stenosis.
It's actually pretty rare.

What you're experiencing 90% of the time is REFERRAL PAIN that mimics sciatica but comes from completely different sources:
SI Joint Dysfunction - When your sacroiliac joint (where your pelvis meets your spine) is misaligned or inflamed, it refers pain down your leg that feels identical to sciatica. Shooting pain, burning, numbness—all the same symptoms, different source.

Piriformis Syndrome - Your piriformis muscle sits right on top of your sciatic nerve. When it's tight or spasming (often from pelvic misalignment), it compresses the nerve and creates sciatica-like symptoms. But it's a MUSCLE problem, not a nerve root problem.

Pelvic Imbalance - Pregnancy, falls, repetitive movements, poor posture—these create pelvic imbalances that put pressure on nerves and refer pain down the leg.

Here's why this matters:
If you're treating true sciatica when you actually have SI joint dysfunction, you're chasing the WRONG THING. Anti-inflammatories, nerve pain medication, even surgery—none of it will fix a mechanical pelvic problem.

Chiropractic adjustments address the ROOT cause. We assess whether it's your SI joint, your piriformis, your pelvis, or actual nerve compression—and we correct the dysfunction at the source.
We've seen countless people told they have "chronic sciatica" experience complete relief after we adjusted their pelvis and SI joint. Because it was never sciatica in the first place.

Stop treating the wrong thing. Get to the root.

Mamas, we see you.

Up every hour. Walking the halls at 3am. Holding your baby upright because laying them down means pain. Watching them arch their back, spit up constantly, refuse to eat, and cry inconsolably.

You’ve tried everything:
• Reflux meds that barely help
• Multiple formulas
• Elevated sleep
• Smaller, frequent feeds
• Cutting dairy, soy, and everything else

And nothing is working.

Your baby’s reflux isn’t just a stomach issue — it’s often a stressed nervous system.

The vagus nerve (cranial nerve X) controls digestion and the valve between the esophagus and stomach. It coordinates swallowing, breathing, and keeping food down.

When there’s a subluxation (misalignment) at C1 or C2 — incredibly common from birth, even “easy” births — it can interfere with vagus nerve function.

That interference can mean:
❌ The stomach valve doesn’t close well
❌ Digestion is disrupted
❌ The body stays in fight-or-flight
❌ Baby can’t calm or relax enough to eat or sleep

Your baby isn’t broken.
They don’t need another formula or higher medication dose.

They need their nervous system checked.

Gentle pediatric chiropractic adjustments — pressure so light you’d use it to check a tomato for ripeness — can remove subluxations at C1/C2.

When nervous system function is restored, babies can:
✅ Digest properly
✅ Keep food down
✅ Shift out of stress mode
✅ Relax and sleep

We’ve seen many “reflux babies” experience major relief in just 1–3 adjustments — not because we treated reflux, but because we removed nervous system interference.

The crying decreases. The spit-up improves. Babies sleep flat. And you finally get rest.

Medication manages symptoms. Chiropractic addresses the root cause.

Mama, you’ve been doing everything right. Sometimes the missing piece is looking at the whole system — not just the stomach.

Your pregnancy care shouldn't look the same at 8 weeks as it does at 38 weeks.

Because what your body needs in the first trimester is completely different from what it needs in the third. And your nervous system—the system coordinating every single change happening in your body—needs specific support at every stage.

FIRST TRIMESTER (Weeks 1-13): Adaptation + Regulation

Your body is experiencing a massive hormonal surge. Morning sickness, extreme fatigue, emotional overwhelm—your nervous system is trying to adapt to rapid changes. Early adjustments support hormone regulation, reduce nausea signals through vagus nerve function, and help your body establish a strong foundation for the months ahead.

SECOND TRIMESTER (Weeks 14-27): Alignment + Space

Baby's growth accelerates. Your center of gravity shifts forward. Round ligament pain shows up. This is when we focus on pelvic balance (Webster Technique) and spinal support as your curves change. We're creating optimal SPACE for baby to grow and positioning your body for an easier third trimester and labor.

THIRD TRIMESTER (Weeks 28-40): Positioning + Preparation

Maximum physical changes. Sciatica, p***c pain, rib pain. Your body is preparing for labor, and baby needs to get into optimal position. Weekly adjustments help your pelvis open and align, relieve nerve pressure, support baby's positioning, and prepare your nervous system for labor.
Studies show regular adjustments in the third trimester correlate with shorter labor times and fewer interventions.

Your nervous system is coordinating organ shifts, blood volume increases, hormone fluctuations, postural changes, and baby's development—all at once.
When it's functioning optimally, pregnancy feels safer, labor progresses more smoothly, and baby thrives.
You're not just "carrying a baby." You're performing biological miracles every single day. And your nervous system deserves trimester-specific support through it all.

Ever notice how your shoulders tense up when you're anxious? Or how your stomach hurts when you're stressed?

Your body doesn't separate emotional stress from physical stress.
To your nervous system, it's all the same—it's all THREAT.

When you experience emotional stress (work pressure, relationship conflict, financial worry, grief, overwhelm), your nervous system kicks into fight-or-flight mode. And when you stay in that state chronically, your body starts to break down.

Here's how emotional stress becomes physical pain:
Muscle tension - Your body literally braces for danger. Tight shoulders, clenched jaw, tension headaches, lower back pain—it's your nervous system holding on.
Inflammation - Chronic stress increases cortisol and inflammatory markers, leading to joint pain, digestive issues, and chronic conditions.
Nerve sensitivity - When your nervous system is on high alert, it interprets normal sensations as pain. Everything feels more intense.
Poor sleep and healing - Stress disrupts your body's ability to rest and repair, so pain lingers and injuries don't heal properly.
Digestive dysfunction - Your gut is directly connected to your nervous system. Stress = IBS, bloating, nausea, acid reflux.

You're not "just stressed." Your body is RESPONDING to stress the only way it knows how.
Chiropractic care doesn't erase your stressors. But it DOES help your nervous system shift out of fight-or-flight mode and into a state where healing, digestion, sleep, and pain regulation can actually happen.

Regular adjustments help your body process stress instead of storing it as tension and pain.
You deserve care that addresses the whole picture—not just the symptoms.

"Dear Nervous System,
You've carried me through every hard conversation, sleepless night, heartbreak, and overwhelming day. You've kept my heart beating, my lungs breathing, my body healing, even when I didn't give you the support you deserved.

This year, I want to say thank you and I want to show you some love."

Here are 5 ways to care for your nervous system this month (and every month):
1. Get Adjusted Regularly
Remove the interference. Restore clear communication between your brain and body. Give yourself the foundation for optimal function.

2. Prioritize Deep Sleep
Your nervous system repairs and resets during sleep. 7-9 hours isn't indulgent, it's essential for hormone regulation, mood stability, and healing.

3. Practice Breathwork
Deep, intentional breathing activates your vagus nerve and shifts you out of fight-or-flight mode. Try 4-7-8 breathing: inhale for 4, hold for 7, exhale for 8. Instant reset.

4. Move Your Body Gently
Walking, stretching, yoga—gentle movement signals SAFETY to your nervous system. You don't need intense workouts. You need joyful, consistent movement.

5. Connect with Safe People
Your nervous system co-regulates with others. Hugs, laughter, deep conversations, these tell your brain you're safe. You're wired for connection. Let yourself receive it.

Your nervous system is your lifeline. It controls everything: how you sleep, heal, digest, handle stress, and show up in the world.

This Valentine's Day, instead of just celebrating romantic love, let's celebrate the incredible system that makes it all possible.

Give your nervous system the care it's been begging for.
