The Port of Galveston is excited to add the beautiful Icon of the Seas to its lineup of top-class cruise ships beginning in August 2027. Just one more reason why Galveston is the cruise port of choice for a growing number of Americans. This is great news for cruise passengers because we’re offering more sailings to more destinations on a greater variety of ships.

Traffic Advisory: Lane Closures on Harborside Drive: The Galveston Wharves is advising the public of lane closures on Harborside Drive beginning Monday, Nov. 17, and continuing through the end of the year due to road repair work by the Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT).

Work is expected on sections of Harborside between 14th Street and I-45, with work beginning at 14th Street. TxDOT aims to restrict lane closures to weekdays as much as possible.

Drivers — including cruise passengers, supply trucks and other port-related traffic — should expect delays, especially on cruise days. To help minimize travel time, please use your navigation app to plan your route in advance and allow extra time to reach your destination safely.

We appreciate the public’s patience as TxDOT completes these important roadway improvements supporting access and safety on Harborside Drive.
