MARCH 26, 2026 – The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) has closed one eastbound lane on Harborside Drive between 14th and 33rd streets for construction work. Drivers in the area should allow additional travel time and possibly consider alternate routes.

Beginning March 28, Carnival passengers sailing from Cruise Terminal 25 will enter the cruise terminal area at 22nd and Harborside and exit at 23rd Street. Port police will facilitate traffic flow at the intersections during cruise operations.

Entrances for terminals 10, 16 and 28 are unchanged at this time. The port will provide updates as they become available from TxDOT.

Alternate lane closures are expected on Harborside through the summer for work to repair concrete pavement sections.

The Galveston Wharves will hold an open house 4-6 p.m. Wednesday, March 25, at Cruise Terminal 16, 1602 Harborside Drive, to share highlights, answer questions, and get public input on its new 20-Year Strategic Master. There will be a brief presentation at 4:30 p.m.

Disney Cruise Line collaborated with Junior Achievement of Southeast Texas to host 30 Galveston Ball High School students enrolled in the CTE Hospitality Program. Regarding the evolving situation in Mexico, cruise operations at the Port of Galveston have not been impacted at this time. Cruise lines continuously monitor developments and will advise their passengers of any changes to cruise itineraries.
